Thought I'd share a few thoughts about the ongoing soap opera called "Immigration Reform." Perhaps "Fairy Tale" is a more accurate apellation. In the rush to sell this snake oil, Liberals and RINOs alike have truly outdone themselves in the mendacity department. Perhaps they are practicing, because when v**ers figure out what's really in this bill, most of these Senators will need to turn their efforts to selling used cars.
Where do I begin? How about with "First, we have to secure the border?" Not gonna happen. Even CBS News, hardly a bastion of conservative activists, has reported that illegal border crossings are up 300% IN ANTICIPATION OF AMNESTY. If they plan on securing the border, when do they plan on getting started?
"This only applies to i******s who have been in the country for (pick a number) of years." Just how do they plan on verifying this? There is NO provision for verification in this bill, leaving, I suppose, the alternative of just taking their word for it, ("they" being such a trustworthy bunch and all that).
How about another favorite selling point, that of "I******s will have to pay back taxes?" Nope. You see, what the bill ACTUALLY says is they have to pay any taxes assessed them by the IRS. Since almost all of them either work under the table or with false IDs, just how is the IRS supposed to assess anything?
Now for my favorite: "I******s will not be receiving benefits because they are ineligible." To be honest, I agonized over whether to call this one a fairy tale or a bald faced lie, since either one would be accurate. Who in the Hell do they think they are kidding? Most of the 11,000,000 or so i******s in the country already are receiving benefits, eligible or not. Many of them far more than a citizen or a legal immigrant could ever hope for, due to the same exacting system of oversight and verification which enforces all of the previously mentioned whackers. (That means lies, for you non-southwesterners).
Should this bill pass, we can expect to see upwards of 20,000,000 new "immigrants" on our soil in the next 10 years. These are not starry eyed job seekers searching for the "American Dream," they are mostly l***hes, whose first actions upon arrival will be gaming the sieve-like system for every freebie they can get. Currently, i******s cost the taxpayers about 84 billion dollars a year. We pay for their education, groceries, anchor babies and legal costs while they send upwards of 56 billion dollars a year back to their home countries. This is with the current number. How do you think that will work if this latest Federal "one size fits all (poorly)" FUBAR legislation becomes law?
Lest we forget: Remember that little piece of work called "Obamacare?" You know, the one where our i***t legislators "passed it so they could find out what's in it?" I have yet to hear ANYONE address the issue of how 20,000,000 plus new "not eligible" recipients will impact this criminal act that was foisted off on us. You can bet that the original bill, just like it's "Affordable Health Care" antecedent, will quintuple in size in jig time, once a bunch of unelected, unaccountable, overpaid, underqualified and impossible to fire Federal apparatchiks start adding their regulatory rockets, further obfuscating the already vague. Since Congress has apparently decided that their job description does not include keeping track of legislation after their Lordly actions make it law, we can look forward to a perfect storm of incomprehensible and contradictory regulations to complement the coming tsumani of i******s this bill will make possible. Beware of the bureaucrats! (on another note, in closing, I do have an observation on "Bureaucrats, uses of:" I used to drive an eighteen wheeler in my younger days. From what I've seen of most bureaucrats, they would serve a far more useful purpose by being employed as mud flaps for my truck.
Thought I'd share a few thoughts about the ongoing... (
