I fully understand that, him being born and raised until his late 20's in Scandinavia and their Socialist systems .. and he refers to how well it works there all time, ignoring that was over 60 plus years ago and they are having a lot of problems in Scandinavia due to the huge Drug culture there for the freebies and the Radical Islamic immigration into those countries.

The NPR comment is about race and its about specifically about Race Baiters which they are. Myself like many have tried over and over not to view this whole Obamacare issue as race baiting and racially driven.. But the fact is that is is BOTH. This is a very open move to destroy the white middle and upper middle class of this country and to take from us as much as they can if not all and give to the non w****s as free as much as possible. It's moving slowly but the backlash is coming because not all of the B****s, Hispanics and other non -white see this as a plus they see it like we do as an attack on the middle and upper middle class of the USA..

I have a friend that works in the ER of the big Medical Center in Spokane, WA - they tell me that the vast majority of everyone that comes through the door are single, low income teenage mothers pregnant or with babies.. that is their primary care doctor and location and its getting worse as the months go by. Friend said its a cross between Hispanic and White welfare families with others mixed in but they are the majority. Next largest group are female crack addicts on welfare and that the ER is also their primary doctor and care facility and that is growing faster then the unwed mother problem. They noted that like any big medical facility with ER and for trauma they have about everything under the sun that comes through the doors and they treat, but they are becoming overwhelmed by the above and its a financial burden on the medical system and getting worse. When she told me what she was making as a certified paramedic and nurses aid I was shocked, noting the salaries here were much higher. She said yes but they are strapped for money for employees with the continual rise of no pay or minimal pay numbers we treat.

On another part of the discussion.. our company is small 4 full time people 3 part time husband and myself. We have had no insurance since they cancelled us 5 years ago for not enough younger aged employees to insure all but 1 are 40 years old or older.. we are in a field that sees little to applicants in younger ages due to the experience needs in specialty woodworking and hand made items. We have tried for years to get personal coverage and they have blacked balled us because of erroneous information in my medical file - my doctor wrote a letter to the main facility where all the files are stored that the underwriters request to review, advising that I was NOT Diabetic, I did not have high blood pressure mine is always right on normal, I did not have 2 hip replacements and 2 knee replacements .. I had one knee replaced other than seasonal allergies I was very healthy . The last 2 underwriters I talked to told me very bluntly true or not insurance companies by law did not have to insure anyone if they did not want to and they did not want to take a risk all the so called erroneous info in my file was true vs a big mistake. One told me off the record it happens all the time and they usually will not back down if the applicant is over 45 .. younger they usually with insure at a higher premium.

When Obamacare went live I did sign up and I did combine a lot of information of deceased relatives (grandparents/parents both sides) so they could not tract back to me as I did not trust them then and certainly do not now. What I entered as health care records was accurate.. age, height, weight, knee replacement etc and checked on purpose the fact I have pre-existing as of 2 years ago when I was diagnosed with SLE LUPUS. My quote for insurance just for me with lupus as a
pre-existing condition to keep the monthly premium down I had a $16,000 deductible and an $876 monthly payment. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry at that .. so I did both.

Husband, my father, daughter did not believe me but I had printed off the pages as they unfold on screen here. And down the road I've talked with friends and acquaintances online that ran into very similar numbers being over age 45 , middle class salaries with both working now that kids were grown and gone and all are uninsured at this point due to the costs.

My 29 yr old daughter called me other day to say we finally have the new insurance with a company that is inline with what obamacare demands we must have.. and read me all the BS.. she said the agent advised to take the highest deductible now as she is 6 months pregnant to get covered for her labor and delivery and any complications ... their deductible for a family of 3 - husband is 34, she is 29 and their daughter will be 3 in April, all in perfect health is $6,000 .. I said that's not bad .. she said MOM.. that for each or $18,000 for the family .. NOW I believe what they quoted you
I said $18,000 .. yes and the worst part she said is it all has to be used for me to be covered for maternity we have to pay out $18000 between now and end of May and it cannot go on one person.. everyone has to satisfy some % of their own 6,000.00 its very insane and confusing .

My older called to talk over weekend and she said thank goodness her husband works for a large division of Toyota International or their new family policy would have been too much for them to afford with their combined salaries of $72,000. She was furious saying they look at your net figure which is ridiculous you don't bring home that much.. after taxes and then mortgage, and living expenses you know how tight we live with the cost of raising one child in preschool presently.. this is insane.

YEP they are both right and this is out to make the middle class pay for all those that can't or flat out won't and bankrupt this country at the same time.

I have heard the same story over and over from people on Tv, to forums such as this and the list goes on and on , to personal friends and relatives. My father a widower in his late 80's said his medicare (NOT MEDICADE) has been cut back.. and the premiums on his supplemental have doubled and he has been notified by the administration of the private pension he gets being part of the printers unions which is company/employee self pay no government subsidizing like Teacher's Unions and Government workers unions etc.. has been taking a loss and due to some new governmental laws on private union pension funds, he stands to loose over a $1000 a month in his benefits. Yet he remains a die hard socialist democrat crying about what they are taking he worked for and has been taxed on at least once already !

What will it take for people to wake up ?

I agree, and the tea party, I really believe, started out with the best of intentions, brought out the most successful of politicians to their cause, but somewhere down the road it also brought out others who had agendas of their own. That is the problem, keeping something pure and everybody on the same page. Live Love from the great country of Texas!
I strongly believed and still do in the original Tea Party agenda and so do many others including Cruz, but the "Tea Party" now is understood as being the "National Organization" which is what most don't like because they are becoming too much like the DNC and RNC, and they are. I have not lost faith in what the original proclaimed and I felt strongly about.. I just do it by myself that's all.. what it might take are the individuals and small groups still strongly in favor of the original Tea Party agenda moving it forward ourselves.. are there enough to make a mark .. who knows.. the v**er apathy is so bad its anyone's guess.

YES that is the problem in a nutshell.. I've belonged (past tense) to 2 of the local tea party groups out here in suburban Illinois.. and got tired of the inter group fighting.. it went from the original intentions to a handful vying for top of the hill and power over the rest.. I left and tried the second closest and it was the same thing... too many and too many power trips and too impressed with themselves to see they are hurting not helping the original cause they agreed with and tried to promote.

What do I have against the tea party? Very simply they are out for their own particular interest, rather than for the larger interest of the community as a whole. The Founding Fathers did not think so. In fact, an very important article written by our 4th President James Madison, actually thought that one of the greatest advantages of the new Constitution was precisely that it would undermine the effects of factions. As long as citizens think, act and v**e as members of interest groups rather than as members of society as a whole, the true interests of the society will be ignored and the struggle for partisan advantage. Television pundits may look down their noses at lobbying and letter writing campaigns, but these are, according to the pluralist theory of democracy, the legitimate and essential means by which the will of the people is t***slated into the law of the land. if interest group politics you must have the money to keep getting more attraction. I always said that if John F. Kennedy would not have been k**led, we would have already been raising these very same arguments then instead of now. The saying has it what goes around comes around. It isn't only dictators who say the state takes priority over the citizen. Kennedy had the same vision of Italian f*****t Mussolini, in an attempt to inspire his listeners with a selfless patriotism, a willingness to to of themselves for the good of the country, Kennedy declared:"Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country." No one would ever call Kennedy a f*****t, but how different really is Kennedy's famous appeal than Mussolini's statement that the State is "the true reality of the individual"? They want to use state power, military power of the state to suppress dissent or opposition. Isn't this Obama's regime? Homeland security? No more on a war footing but rather a national footing. That we need neighborhood m*****as that have the same powers as homeland security? Something to think about, huh? Live Love from the great country of Texas!
What do I have against the tea party? Very simply ... (show quote)

LMAO - they are not different than who they are against.. in the beginning it was a people's movement but now that there are big organizers they are just a mirror reflection of the people they want out .. one group out.. next group in and we go full circle continuously.. both sides can argue this til the cows come home and its not going to change a thing. I was in local city politics and Im out .. why I wanted no part of the good old boys (which is male and female) .. and I didn't become one of them so they did with me what they do in Congress.. you don't play by their rules, you instead play by what the v**ers in your area want.. you're out. How often can you find or speak with or email with your state and federal reps and senators.. most will say never.. and that's the honest t***h.. e******n time they are like flies on horse apples.. after they are in and secure they are ghosts....

All I can say is goodbye and good riddance to all of them... I loath lawyers and politicians and most high end politicians are lawyers to begin with. I can say that because I've been there and done it and found it to be always having to give into one side or the other to keep your position there is no room for honest and independent people you must be one of the pack or your out. I like OUT ... and I will do what I can here .. made a lot of enemies with local politicians over the years standing my ground and being outspoken and reminded too often as female I need to shut up ... well to all those former butt licking politicians I say "up yours" and since you got v**ed out citizens like me do get listened to and occasionally enough listen and v**e with their heads not their ideology.

then we continue this downhill spiral and go the way of prior great countries and civilizations since it seems that only the very rich can hold office now and like any dictatorship or old world monarchy the power will remain in the family... I heard this quote a long time ago and as true as it was then it is today....".FREEDOM IS JUST AN ILLUSION "

what the tea party does it does, nothing worse than what all the embedded for life good ole boyz on both side do... the problem is all of them ! Until there are term limits that will keep them from making it a life long steal and lie fest nothing will change no matter if its democrats, republicans, tea party, or any other party...they are there for the good of all not themselves and special interest which is all its been for way to long.

What is about paying wages at or above the poverty level that scares you people? Can't afford it sounds like cop-out, as the prices keep rising regardless of the economy.

It does not scare most business owners but what it does is put the small self employed companies out of business because we cannot compete with the mega corporations. Maybe you should walk in our shoes before taking the attitude you do at us. When was the last time YOU went without a paycheck to keep your employees paid each week huh ? I bet never

I can only conclude that you didn't read Dr. Hanson's article -

As to wage disparity, don't you think it necessary to define the cause of the problem before offering a solution?

As to minimum wage, do you really think that any private employer can pay wages above the market value of the work performed?

I'd suggest your read Dr. Hanson's article - perhaps from that you might get a better idea of the core problem.

I am an employer, its a small family business established in 1969 and right now we are barely surviving, we've gone from a 15 person full time work force in the last 6 years down to the 5 key people, husband stopped paying himself 2 years ago because we could not make payroll, taxes and bills due to payroll taxes with his salary in there and he was only paying himself $75K per year with NO BENEFITS. We lost health insurance about the same time because we only had 5 full time employees as one of the owners I'm not included either is he. We have a factory in what is now the Hispanic ghetto gang stronghold of Chicago.. but we pay over $30K a year in property taxes for nothing.. I can't wait until Obama care starts to fine us.. our few remaining employees are all over 50 these men have been with the company from the start ..and they are the backbone of the business. We cannot afford to hire anyone sales are so dismal and we cannot afford the payroll taxes. We are or were all middle middle class and one of the few Made 100% in the USA products left in this country where all of the materials needed for our product come out of US companies for woods and metals, all our fabricators for parts are locally in Chicago or Suburban.. we've kept it 100% USA while our competition sold out to China and gets all kinds of perks from Chicago and the Feds... they are Corporate World and get those perks .. we have survived this long fighting it out as best we can. There is not a democrat or republican in this state that have helped or even offered to. The best we got was we were in a TIF district and could borrow money to expand a low interest rate.. when we applied we were told there is one tiny area not included and that is the area of the main street where we are located. How nice.. There is no one in Congress that cares presently nor do the last 4 presidents .. its all about getting wealthy on the back of others.. best thing that could happen is Congress is bombed while they a re in session.

Makes perfect sense since its embedded lifer good ole boyz on both sides that talk the talk but never walk the walk for the citizens anymore they might as well be one big party ! .. actually they are.

The only thing that has ever kept any government in check is if the people had guns to protect themselves from the government. I have been saying this for more years than I can count. Now that Concealed Carry is legal in the Socialist State of Illinois - which is the liberal bedroom of the Obama's and some of the worst to be in Congress as senators and representatives... this is their back door way in ... with a nice long and growing list of CC apps with everyone's know it all info and people and not seeing it for what it is. This is a state where the former Mayor Daley #2 demanded the State Police turn over all the FOID Card citizens to the City of Chicago so they knew who in the state had guns.. and the State Police did it. It went to court and he lost but he had copies made long before it even hit the courts. WAKE UP PEOPLE ... time is short before the devil will be at all our doors..
