Obama Declares H1N1 Emergency

October 26, 2009 8:47 a.m. EDT

Washington (CNN) -- President Obama has declared a national emergency to deal with the "rapid increase in illness" from the H1N1 influenza v***s.

"The 2009 H1N1 p******c continues to evolve. The rates of illness continue to rise rapidly within many communities across the nation, and the potential exists for the p******c to overburden health care resources in some localities," Obama said in a statement.

"Thus, in recognition of the continuing progression of the p******c, and in further pr********n as a nation, we are taking additional steps to facilitate our response."

The president signed the declaration late Friday and announced it Saturday.

I also noticed where Princess Cruises is halting operations for at least 60 days...it seems that it would make a viable plan to use ships as quarantine and hospital facilities, it seems like they could make more money investing in the personnel and infrastructure this way than they do on cruises. There would be massive emergency funds available to help them set it up.

In regards to the market, it was not impressed with what trump said Wednesday night. This country is in significant economic stress that will only get worse before it gets better.

As we are hearing, trump is being barraged by big corporate interests who want a piece of the "emergency" response billions trump can free up by declaring an emergency.

Trump is already indicating he wants to help these entities that can survive or die without affecting anything...
...The billionaires backing the pipeline, they were already in trouble because the need for shale oil is dying
...The "hospitality" industry...of course that would be trump hotels and resorts hurt by the c****av***s
...The fracking industry is also in trouble because of decreasing oil prices and demand, let them survive or die

Trump and the administration have been conducting meetings with industries making their cases for bailouts. This is selective financial favors for those who are willing to pay to play, pure and simple. Loans and handouts will go to select entities, not industry wide on a fair basis. Is there any doubt that Trump resorts and hotels would get a huge chunk of these funds as they are handed out in a very secretive process without any oversight?

Already we have no idea how trump is handing out the eight billion in emergency funds, two major labs have seemed to be selected to have a controlling role in testing kits, and who knows how much is being thrown at what companies for v*****e development.

These health industry giants can afford to invest in their own research and development, but the way it works is that hundreds of millions will be thrown at them, they will get free passes on the normal FDA testing and trials, and the industry already insists that the government has no right to regulate how much they charge for the product the government is footing the bill to develop.
