I was under the impression that it was illegal for Christians to proselytize in Pakistan and Afghanistan... Not so?

It IS illegal, but the funny thing is that my friends are often accomopanied by armed government m*****a to protect them as they preach and have provided photos of this. Some of their guards have accepted Christ! On conversion to any religion other than Islam, it's perfectly legal to murder converts. But despite this, many are coming to understand the Good News of the Gospel, especially women and children. Under the iron rod of Islam, they have no hope of a future, but under Christ, much is changed. While Christians are widely and often persecuted, they are multiplying faster than their losses. It is an exciting time to be an evangelical Christian!

Does this help ?

I have several friends who are Christian missionaries in Pakistan. Muslims are coming to Christ faster than the Muslims can k**l them. Some of their ministry is reaching in to Afghanistan and the number of Christians there is also growing. There is also a ministry of pastoral training that is being used widely across central Africa and many are coming to Christ there. I do believe we are in end times and there is a harvest of believers going on ini unexpected places. It used to be very difficult to win any Muslim to Christ, but now many are leaving that dark religion. In Europe, there are many missionaries at the relocation camps where many Muslims have fled and many there are also receptive to the Gospel.

It is totally amazing to me that any freedom-loving person would even v**e for a Muslim. There was a brief period of idiocy when I dated a Muslim and had to consider which life I would live, so I started studying about Sharia law. I quickly studied my way out of that religion and broke off the relationship as he was going to move back home to Saudi Arabia. There are now Sharia-based enclaves here in the United States
There's a book by Bill Warner, PHD called "Sharia Law for non-Muslims" and I'm going to use some of the quotes from it.

Under Sharia Law:
* There is no freedom of religion,
* There is no freedom of speech.
* There is no freedom of thought.
* There is no freedom of artistic expression.
* There is no freedom of the press.
* There is no e******y of peoples. A Kafir (non-muslim) is never equal to a Muslim.
* There is no equal protection under Muslim law for different classes of people. Justice is dualistic with different sets of laws, one for Muslim males and different lawss for non-Muslims and women.
* There are no equal rights for women. (Under Sharia, they are considered property).
* Women can be beaten. (Some of the emirs have written books on them proper way to beat them).
* A non-Muslim cannot bear arms.
* There is no democracy since democracy means that a non-Muslim is equal to a Muslim.
* The American Constitution is a man-made document of ignorance, jahili-yah, that must submit to Sharia.
* Non-Muslims are dhimmiks, second class subjects.
* All governments must be ruled by Sharia law.
* Unlike common law, Sharia is not interpretive, nor can it be changed.
* There is no Golden Rule.

Other issues I have is belief in Taqqia, that lying to nonk-muslims is permisable. It takes 2 women in their courts to equal the testimony of one man. If a woman is rapoed, she can be stoned for having sex wih someone she's not married to. In a divorce, the man gets to keep the assets and the children. I could go on with the atrocities promulgated by that Horrific relgion.

Even in the Old Testament in the Levitical Laws the Jews were forbidden to ha a foreigner to ru9le over them to prevent injust among the Jews.

Why would any sane person, either Democrat or Republican, v**e for a Muslim?

And I forgot to mention the cycles of 'El Nino' and 'La Nina.' Those waters in the eastern Pacific have a lot of underwater volcanoes. NO ONE knows how many there are and usually those eruptions go undetected. And no one knows WHEN they're erupting or can predict when or if they're going to pop off. There are many deep undersea volcanoes in the infamous Pacific 'Ring of Fire.' The miracle to me is that we're still here.

My sister is married to a physicist who did years of weather and pollution studies (private, corporate and governmental) not only in the United States, but overseas, including Red China. He is a fascinating person to talk to. There absolutely IS something going on environmentally. However, something is always going on. The question really is how much is man-made. One good belch from a volcano can spew more pollution into the atmosphere than all the man-made pollution of centuries. Also, sunspots affect our temperatures and we're entering an approximately 7 year cycle with reduced sunspots. This can cause g****l c*****g. There have been multiple glacier ages lasting tens of thousands of year, only to re-cycle. There have also been world-wide heating cycles with unimaginable droughts. The glaciers and northern ice cap are receding, but the polar bear numbers have increased despite this over the last 50 years. What I do know is that the science is not 'fixed' and no one can with any accuracy predict what's going to happen over the next 12, 100, or 1000 years, except change is guaranteed. AOC is worried about farting cows. Anything that eats produces gas. Heck, they can't even predict a 7 day forecast with any reliability.

I've been on their email list for several years, but only started posting comments a few days ago. Bad Bob is a very BAD Bob, as I tend to run moderately conservative and he didn't like my post opposing a******n. His comments, and mine deteriorated to exchanged insults. I don't belive either of us changed our positions one millimicron. LOL.

Canada is AWESOME. I especially loved Alberta, British Columbia, the Northwest Territory, but the Yukon is the diamond of all. I love being in the mountains, both USA and Canadian. I've been up and down the Alcan Highway several times and it is always awe-inspiring. I loved seeing the bountiful wildlife and the flora and how it has been different in the various seasons. You get my drift.
Alas, due to a mild stroke and heart surgery, my wanderings are over. But I revisit those places often in my mind.

WHY are y'all insulting Texans? I was born in California, raised in Glorious Montana, but forced to move to Texas when my mother re-married (to an Air Force officer) in 1968. I ended up attending the University of Texas (gotta love those Longhorns), graduated in 1975 and was engaged to an Aggie. I have had the privilege of traveling across the USA and have been in every state except Maine, Vermont and Hawaii. There are fine and wonderful people of all color and political persuasion everywhere I've been. That also includes
Canada, although they do tend to plant far more flowers than Americans.
As for the fence, it's long overdue. It's been promised from both sides of the aisle multiple times over the last 20 or 30 years. Finally, something is being done about it and fior that, I'm very thankful.

This is waaaay off track of the discussion, but that horse meme is one of the funniest things I've seen and I had to send it to a boat load of friends and family as we have many horses (owned and boarded) between us. When temperatures drop below 50^, many of these horses have to be blanketed. It's a major production and inevitably, every year blankets get torn, stained and trampled, no matter how well-fitted or expensive they are.

I'm shot down. I had never heard this suggested or proposed before and thought this was my own bright idea. But I'm glad there are other(s) who have thought of it. It may be a viable option for legislation in the future but probably only at the state level.

How about this? IF a woman is on welfare, she will receive her aide for dependent children only for the FIRST child. If she gets pregnant again, in order to receive ADC, she has to have her tubes tied on the baby's delivery. Thus a woman's reproductive rights are not infringed upon, and welfare and abortiions are dramatically reduced. Some of them might even end up in the work force.
