Why in the bloody hell, do the producers of food and fibre, need to explain, or justify, our existence to the consumers of our products?

Don't want the beef or cotton? Don't buy it!

Live on Kale and tofu, until your bodies need the byproducts of what we produce to save your life.

I don't care if you eat seaweed and fart peppercorn bubbles. Until you can feed a world on your dreams, we will keep producing what it takes to nourish society.

I'll not make excuses for the producers of the earth, who give the complainers of the world something to b***h about.

I would like to see a single alternative food producer, actually feed the hungry people of this world.

Did you ever see "organic food" or "non-GMO" requested by starving people in war zones or famine regions?

Organic, and GMO are arguments reserved for the well fed, fat and happy folks, who have nothing to lose.

There are many not for profit agencies, that feed the starving people of this world......and not a single organization seeks protein from an "alternative" food source.

Attacking modern agriculture may feel good, until you are hungry.

Why is it, that only the rich nations, have people who are willing to bite the hand that feeds them?

It is easy to be smug, and complaining, when you have nothing to lose.

Before you b***h about my pictures, the second picture is of people who fought for others......they came from a nation of plenty, and starved for others. The method of food production did not matter. Life mattered.

Rant over!

good post, 4430,, and so obvious.. while I try organic growing in my garden, I have never seen how production via that method could feed to world.. it is good for us, but not possable with 7 billion people eating ever day..

Your one-sided comments also speak volumes. Are you not interested in what Bill Barr is looking into or are you afraid of what he might come up with?

Bill Barr accepted a job which was reduced to only protecting the orange festering pus ball in the white house, and he has indeed done nothing else..

Hey PeterS and woodie. I h**e to be the one to burst your bubble but all this nonsense that you guys are breathlessly announcing as THIS being the information that'll finally be the end of Trump is, in actuality, just the latest installment in the Resist, Obstruct, Impeach, playbook, you Dims have embarked on since November 2016 when your world came crashing down.
Since that day, not one single Democrat has forwarded a single item of beneficial legislation. The entire focus of the agenda of the Dims has been to overturn the will of America's e*****rate in choosing Trump over the corrupt, criminal Hillary. And the most remarkable thing is that Trump has succeeded wildly in advancing America's agenda with absolutely zero help from the do-nothing Dems.
2020 will be the time for reckoning. Your platform of Resist, Obstruct, Impeach isn't gonna resonate with fair minded Americans and you'll be pushed to the sidelines where you can't do any harm and where you belong anyway. Like the old saw says, "Lead, Follow, or Get Out of the Way!"

good morning Walt.,

While Putin and you on the extreme right, may love the results of the trump misdeeds. they are clearly grounds for impeachment and once the investigation is finished, may well move on to actual impeachment.
A sad event for the country but clearly deserved by the life time criminal the minority placed in our white house.

What else is congress doing?? good question. We have to look at the over 100 bills gathering dust on McConnell s desk to find out.. can you get the Moscow Mitch to answer any real questions??

If memory serves, you and the right would not like any of them.. things like consumer protection, funding for child hood health care, protecting the environment and promoting small business centers..

You know, nothing in those to turn on the heart of the very rich.. Only good for the real working Americans..

I sincerely doubt our people have left them any technology we don't want reverse engineered.

At the same time, we're pulling our troops out of a situation best served by those who actually have horses in the race.

In the Hypocrisy Department, even though it was a Democrat president (LBJ) who accelerated (and mired us for a decade) our involvement in Vietnam, and even though you folks want us to remain in Syria, it's always Democrats calling Republicans "war mongers."

Talk about a mind wiping... when I read the piece I posted, I imagined the russkies gloting over getting American base.. Frosted me no end..

Then I read Bobbys post and though, oh darn, that is what I want,,,our troops back home.. no way to win in that darn sand box.. so I agree with Bobby..

But then I though, pulling out is hard to do with no down side.. so I wish we had never been drawn into the ME wars... convoluted as they are, we at times do not even know who is on our side..

But after a deep breath and a little more thinking.. it seems the only "winners" in this mess are all of those that we would never want to become "winners" in that region. and that makes the future seem much more dark and deadly..

So, the outcome to this point is that Russia, Iran, Syria and ISIS come out well ahead and with more strength then before this event..

While the kurds, hard fighting allies that they were may in fact be reduced to memory only.
and the US, has been shown that we can never be trusted to hold any agreement we may make..

So, nothing good comes of this that I can see.. sad but true..

You're so quick to condemn Trump based on opinions that your mob creates almost daily. For example, "the only value he sees in being President is to make more money." What a cheap shot! We've heard that before from your talking heads. What does he need more money for? FYI Trump has brought in over $300 million for his 2020 campaign. That's more than any President ever and twice as much as Obama did running for his second term. Obviously there are a lot of Americans who reject the Progressive agenda and philosophy.

It is not "need" it is "greed"....

that 300 million or what ever it is comes from the likes of the Koch family and the other super rich who have gotten the gift most wanted... a mountain of money.,,,, our money.. we will be paying for generations. or maybe the nation will simply collapse.. to nothing..

I have seen men destroyed by the “Me too” movement, yet we have a man who is openly a misogynist. Who brags about grabbing women with impunity, and has amassed over 25 sexual harassment allegations, and nothing is done. A man who has insinuated that he would like to date his own daughter.

Every one of his cabinet appointments has gone to individuals who stand to profit by their mismanagement of the Department they were selected to operate. He has pulled this country out of the Paris Accord that was attempting to make some progress over the deterioration of our climate. He ended the Iranian Nuclear Agreement. An agreement that was working. He has abandoned our Middle East allies, the Kurds, to wh**ever fate the Turks decide is appropriate.

He has taken credit for an economy that had low unemployment and steady growth in its financial markets. It was not his policies that initiated that growth. He is a master at usurping credit from those who actually deserve it. He attempted to coerce the leader of Japan to nominate him for the Nobel Peace prize, and he even inquired about whether or not he could award himself the Congressional Medal of Honor. (I know some say he was joking, but as a former Marine officer, that is not something we joke about.)

He has emboldened white nationalists sentiments in this country. He has insulted almost every institution this country has to maintain peace and order both domestically and internationally. He has questioned the veracity of the FBI. He has accepted foreign assessments over U.S. Intelligence agencies. He has alienated our historic allies in NATO. He has negotiated in private with what many consider to be our most dangerous adversaries. He has openly personally profited from his position as President and allowed his family members to do likewise.

He has stripped over 13 million Americans of their health insurance. He has imprisoned prekindergarten children in cages more suitable for animals. He has openly ordered his supporters to commit contempt of Congress violations by ordering them to defy legal subpoenas.

He is the only President to refuse to make public his tax returns. His vocabulary and speech patterns are horrendous. His constant insults directed towards anyone he views as an adversary is reminiscent of a schoolyard taunt at an elementary school. His constant attacks on the media are beyond tiresome. It is simply amazing that the idea of “f**e news” never gained traction under any other politician. They must all have been waiting for Donald Trump. Even Fox is not immune from his ire.

He brags about his acumen as a businessman, but any indepth examination of his financial dealings leads to serious questions about his actual wealth. There is a reason why no U.S. banks will do business with any Trump enterprise. Trump has admitted to filing bankruptcy 5 times and declaring over a billion dollar loss on his taxes.

I am so tired of constantly turning on the TV to learn about what new indiscretion that this man has managed to commit. I am totally bewildered as to how or why he has a base that willingly stands behind him and defends his t***sgressions. His Trump University, his sale of steaks on the internet, his failure to pay hardworking subcontractors, his scheme to sell Trump ties (made in China), are all attempts to rip off uninformed consumers of their hard earned money.

I have now watched a litany of retired military officers begin to sound the alarm about this charlatan. They are a bipartisan group. They include Gen. Mattis, Gen. Kelly, Adm. McRaven, and Gen. Colin Powell. You would think that even the most entrenched conservatives would pay attention to these decorated heroes, but you would be wrong.

I do not know what it is going to take for Americans to realize that we have a Manchurian candidate occupying the White House. I get it that many disliked the fact that Mr. Obama was a black man occupying the White House, and that your lily white sentiments were offended. But to endorse unquestionably a person who very likely might be colluding with Russian oligarchs and the Saudi Royal family is bordering on insanity.

Been awhile but many do not seem happy with SS.. so all of us may well know this, but one more time for old times, i will post this.

Social Security pays out based on what you pay into it.

If you do your best to get educated and do well in your career, Social Security at full retirement age will pay $34,332 a year at normal retirement age for someone who paid the maximum amount for the specified period of time into Social Security if they retire at normal retirement age.

That’s $2,861 per month.

If that same person retired at age 70 instead of 66 (the current normal retirement age) in 2019, they’d receive a bump up of 8% for each year they waited so their maximum monthly benefit would be $3,892 or $46,708 a year.

However, if someone dropped out of high school and never made more than minimum wage, they wouldn’t come close to paying in the maximum and their benefit would be much lower.

It isn’t that Social Security pays so little; it is that what you get out is based on what you (or your spouse) put in.

Whether to begin collecting at age 66 and receive the lower amount or wait until age 70 depends on many factors. It takes about 11 years of receiving the higher amount to offset the four years you don’t receive benefits when you could. My husband’s parents both lived until well into their 90’s so for him, it’s probably worth it. My dad is 83 and going strong so for me it will be worth it.

Social Security was never intended to be anyone’s sole source of retirement income. That’s why there are many tax-advantaged ways to save for retirement.
