Won't you please join me? Now I am more inclined than ever to call it the "Chinese V***s." When we let the l*****ts indoctrinators control language, they will try harder to control everything. However, I don't see what the problem is. Aren't the colleges closed down? San Diego State made students move out of their dorms last week. What are other schools doing? Sheltering in place?

Major Universities Ban The Use Of This Phrase For C****-** V***s…Seriously?

Does it get any dumber than this?

Diversity officials for the University of California system, wh**ever those are, have banned students and faculty from using the word “Chinese v***s” to describe a v***s from China that is currently ravaging the globe.

A statement from the Council of Chief Diversity Officers instructs everyone in the system to “reject r****m, sexism, xenophobia and all h**eful or intolerant speech, both in person and online.”

“Be an ‘up-stander,’ and discourage others from engaging in such behavior,” they declare.

“Do not use terms such as ‘Chinese v***s’ or other terms which cast either intentional or unintentional projections of hatred toward Asian communities,” the statement reads.

Also, they declare, “Do not allow the use of these terms by others.”

“Allow”?? What does this even mean, are you suppose to conducts a citizens campus arrest if someone notes the origin of the C****-** v***s?

They also make some helpful suggestions, like to “be inclusive and remember that everyone has different circumstances.”

The statement also comes with helpful instructions for conducting classes online to accommodate the meeting of health guidelines, but recommends not to criticize students for “casual attire.”

“Remember that people may be operating without resources and access to man material items and services,” the document notes.

The Daily Wire accused the university system of “bowing to current political correctness.”

The document goes as far as to spoon-feed people what they should say instead of “Chinese v***s,” instructing them instead to “refer to the v***s as either ‘C****-**’ or ‘c****av***s’ in both oral and written communications.”

Included in the statement is a Joint Statement from the Vice Chancellor – Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, and the Interim Vice Chancellor – Student Affairs at UC Davis titled “Rejecting C****av***s Xenophobia.” (Can you believe that’s a job??)

This statement reads: “A core of our mission at UC Davis Health is, of course, to advance health. Yet, health, privilege and bias are often intertwined. In recent weeks, we have seen an example of this in the alarming rise in bigotry and xenophobia against Asian communities. For many Asians, the r****m is not new, but it has been emboldened as Asians are scapegoated for the c****av***s epidemic. This is doubly painful as Chinese communities also bear the weight of most of the lives lost.”

As the Daily Wire reported, Jerry Kang, the vice chancellor for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion at UCLA, said: “you can see why I’m concerned about the use of another name, ‘W***n v***s,’ which reflects both intellectual laziness and stereotyping.”

“It’s lazy in the sense that there are more precise names for the novel c****av***s, SARS-CoV-2, and the disease that it causes, C****-**. We’re smart enough to learn the proper nomenclature,” he said.

WND notes:

WND reported last week two members of the U.S. Civil Rights Commission had issued a rebuttal to their panel’s majority statement warning of “growing anti-Asian r****m and xenophobia” in response to the c****av***s outbreak.

Commission members Peter Kirsanow and Gail Her**t, who regularly dissent with their colleagues’ positions, said they certainly agree that C****-** “is no excuse for anyone to attack or insult individuals of Asian descent and that when such acts rise to the level of criminal behavior, law enforcement should immediately intervene.”

“But that’s obvious to just about everyone in America,” they said. “The rare exception is unlikely to read the Commission’s statement, much less be persuaded by it.”

Kirsanow and Her**t challenge the panel’s claim that the relatively small number of incidents cited — mostly involving misbehavor by children and teenagers — indicates there is wave of racially motivated attacks.

It would be pointless to search areas of disagreement when the conversation is in greater agreement.
Been a lot of years since I measured the fence post.lol
I'm confident that Ford, Tesla or GM would mostly be a final assembly point. Timing will greatly depend on vendors parts and supply.
I suspect there are many existing parts that would only need to be modified intended for very different functions. As complex as the newer vehicles computers are, it wouldn't suprise me if one could be programmed and modified. As to the rest of the parts I can only hope and cheerlead that they pull off a miracle in short time.
Remember the LA earthquake that damaged several over passes and the main artery of travel? If memory serves it was in 1994 Ridgecrest region (I was still learning how to forecast earthquakes) and if memory serves, there was approximately 20+/- miles of severely damaged highway (Sana Monica highway and four other highways. We know how many years we have watched this distance of highway taken for full repair. Some smart leader offered a bonus $200,000 a day for each day ahead of signed schedule to the contractor having the fastest completion bid, while keeping the project to state and federal standards.
Again my memory is a bit foggy, but start to finish was less than a third of any normal time frame and the contractor walked away with millions in bonus.
Which ever manufacture ends up leading the way will end up with hundreds of millions in bonus $$ a pretty powerful motivation when most manufacturing is grinding to a halt.

My friend, lets see were this goes

Nearly 40 years dealing with Ford, GM and multiple other manufacturers I can assure you a blazing quick turnaround. A ventilator is child's play next to retooling for auto's. These guys are our worlds experts at supply chain and can get parts to assemble from vendors and retool . Their assets dwarf just about anything else in the world when it comes to these things.

I don't recall communicating with you before, but I checked back and your comments seem more intelligent then most. We aren't in fundamental disagreement on how well GM, etc. can act on the supply chain and getting parts. But a ventilator needs specialized parts and if it were just setting up an assembly line, you might be right. If it requires actually manufacturing parts from scratch and design diagrams, there are fundamental delays in the process. We both agree that they can do a hell of a job, but we don't know all of the little bits and pieces to put together a ventilator from design, to procurement, to retooling, to manufacturing, to assembly, to distribution. Time. We aren't talking days and that would just be a dream. Weeks would be a miracle and a month or longer would be more within reality. They are good and if left to get to work without interference with unnecessary regulations they might do a hell of a job. But in the end run, they just might do better with procurement assistance for the current manufacturer and maybe help with workers on their assembly. We, you and I, just don't know. but I think we can agree that if government gets out of the way, they can do it better then with government mandates.

When money is not an object and urgency is of the ultimate demand, these factories have the assets to retool and begin production in days.

Retooling itself can take weeks if not longer. My dad owned a machine shop. You need diagrams and such just to get the tool and die maker to get started. Then the materials that might be in short supply or committed elsewhere. Then cut to size and put into machines to create the parts, cut to precise specifications. Then assembled on an assembly line and arranged for packing and shipping. Then get the truckers or other delivery companies to arrive and start the shipping.

That is just a quick oversight. Poof, that magic wand just skipped that whole process and the delivery service is driving up to the hospital right now. Isn't OPP wonderful. Thanks for getting that all done so quickly.

You are probably right. And if some judge ruled that those states couldn't do that with the E*******l College, their v**es would/could become null and void for that e******n. If it didn't change the outcome, no problem. If it did, it could put the whole e******n on hold for Months/Years. Now somehow I see that helping Trump and the Republicans and that is the exact outcome that those states trying to change the rules would h**e the most.

Just trying to add one and one. That is how I see it so far. Looking for more input.

You're new here. Actually almost neighbors. Chicago Northeast.

If you just hit reply, we usually don't have any idea who you are replying too, or just in general. Might work if you are the absolute next poster that appears, but that doesn't often happen.

If you hit Quote Reply, it shows that whole reply you are responding to, but won't forward that. Only your comments. Helps for everyone to make sense of the whole thread and your comment.

Hope that helps. Welcome. Hope we'll become virtual friends and not adversaries.

I just wish, somewhere along the way, we'd get someone in charge of Justice, FBI, CIA, etc. that would say screw them and go after everyone of the bastards in both parties, in office and after they leave. We've occasionally had Federal attorneys in Illinois going after our Alderman and such, but they never get to the big fish.

I might just as well wish that Santa Claus, The Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy were real.

lpnmajor... The Constitution gives the Individual State Legislatures the responsibility to assign an E*******l Delegate, one for each House of Representatives the State has, and two for the two Senators the State has... That is old news. The new news is that various states, based on, "State Legislatures Laws and Regulations" are trying to force all delegates to v**e for the person who wins the total v**e in the United States and not just their state. Sounds to me like it violates the Constitution where the delegates are supposed to represent their States total and not the United States totals. They still can't get over the facts that Gore and Clinton lost by the rules.

One of the advantages of the delegates representing their state and only their state, that I never see mentioned, is a real close total U. S. popular v**e. Remember h*****g chads in Florida. Imagine that times fifty with State Legislatures, Governors etc. trying to manipulate the results for their favored candidate. They couldn't straighten that out in four years, especially with all of the illegal and dead and unregistered v****g. Our jails would be overflowing. You better thank God for the E*******l college and hope the Supreme Court over rules those states that would try to make their delegates v**e for the United States popular v**e totals.

https://www.westernjournal.com/trump-blasts-democrats-blocking-c****av***s-bill-vows-stonewall-ideological-demands/

President Donald Trump attacked House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and other congressional Democrats on Tuesday for slipping pieces of the Green New Deal and other unrelated projects into the c****av***s relief package Republicans have been trying to pass in the Senate.

The bill was designed to support American workers and businesses facing tough economic times amid restrictive actions taken to slow the spread of the c****av***s.

Although Republicans have a majority in the Senate, Democrats developed leverage there after five GOP senators went into self-quarantine due to potential exposure to the c****av***s.

As a result, a bill that had been sailing along for swift approval suddenly changed course.

“Republicans had a deal until Nancy Pelosi rode into town from her extended vacation,” Trump tweeted. “The Democrats want the V***s to win?

“They are asking for things that have nothing to do with our great workers or companies. They want Open Borders & Green New Deal. Republicans shouldn’t agree!”

“This is not about the ridiculous Green New Deal. It is about putting our great workers and companies BACK TO WORK!” he said in another tweet.

“This will never be approved by me, or any other Republican!” the president said, referring to three key Democratic demands cited by National Review.

Those demands were summarized as new collective bargaining powers for unions, increased fuel emissions standards for airlines and increase solar and wind energy tax credits.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell also upbraided Democrats for using the national emergency to slip in partisan proposals.

“Tax credits for solar energy and wind energy. Provisions to force employers to give special new treatment to Big Labor. And listen to this — new emissions standards for the airlines. Are you kidding me?” McConnell said.

Democrats were also being criticized for using the emergency as a chance to slip in $35 million to renovate the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington.

The House bill also includes $300 million for the National Endowment of the Arts and $300 million for the National Endowment of the Humanities, Fox News reported.

Republican Sen. Susan Collins of Maine said Democrats were doing a disservice to the nation by politicking over the bill instead of passing it.

“We are in the midst of a crisis in our country, a crisis caused by the c****av***s,” she said. “I cannot believe that the answer to this crisis as we move to address the economic consequences that are so severe for the people of this country — that the answer from our friends on the other side of the aisle is delay, delay, delay. No sense of urgency, no hurry.”

On this issue, it should be a priority of all Americans to stop this madness from the Democrats and stand firm. Allow not one of these stupid ideas onto the bill.
