When it comes to picking our poison perhaps we need to seek out candidates that have been in lower level positions of the political offices and not these head strong, greedy, money chasers that know exactly what to do to get themself promoted..

You know, like an everyday person that still knows what is best and wants to make a difference vs thosevwhom just want the money and prestige.. Wh**ever happened to our government officials being those who volunteered for the job instead of the elitist now??

Maybe we should take away these hefty salaries and benefits they now get and pay them for their time measured just like our is.. Sure wouldn’t have many then...

I agree, young lady, but I remember that after "The Republican Revolution" in 1995, That the new Congressmen were interview by 60 Minutes. They stated that it was impossible for them to change anything. The old hands still controlled everything and all they could do is v**e on things that the old hands had pushed. They said they were helpless to change anything.

I remember a lot of that stuff from the 1960s. I was just a kid and I was neigh-eve as the day was long. I did have enough maturity to realize that something significantly had changed in our nation. As an example, I thought the young people who protested the war were nothing but lowlives and spoiled brats. As I got older I realize they were right. Why be sent to a foreign land to fight a war that your government had no intention of winning? The American People were lied to week in and week out. How can you have faith and trust in your leaders when they do such things? I can say two things. The first thing it was the beginnings of the kind of government we have today. It was based on lies, lies and more lies. The second was the revelation of the apathy and lack of involvement of the American People. It is sad what we have become as Americans. You reap what you sow!

I pretty much completely agree with your assessment. When Johnson came out on 60 Minutes and said he didn't end the war because he didn't want to be the first President to lose a war, I was disgusted. He sent fathers and sons to die in a war he knew we were not going to win. In MY mind, that is treason and murder. That's one reason I stopped v****g for Democrats.

Why should the rest of the country subsidize the socialist spending of States like N.Y. and California? Either you like what you pay for in State taxes and are willing to pay them or you move to a State where people take personal responsibility and don't have to subsidize i******s, deadbeats, etc. Pay your own taxes, Pay mine.

From what I’ve been reading I personally believe we are looking to get away from the traditional politician and go with the anti-establishment environment filling Capitol Hill with them instead..

I also am not sure Ward is the best candidate either...

As for the 18% of v**ers I’ve read he supports sanctuary status and many in Arizona are wanting strict border patrol/control... He isn’t viewed as quite conservative enough in answering to what his constituents want. If they don’t get what they want they put you out as it should be.

That's why we have been stuck with McCain. He is a terrible candidate but he's better than the one running as a socialist. Pick your poison.

The answer to the question "will the Clintons be held accountable for their criminality" is most certainly "NO". There are several reasons why they can get away with their crimes. First and foremost being that they are the Clintons. William Jefferson Clinton was a two term President and Hillary Rodam Clinton was a P**********l Candidate. Because that implies that they both had/have support of some 50% of the American people there will be fear that the Clinton supporters will take to the streets and burn America to the ground, if the Clintons are arrested. The left will claim the charges are all political. This is precisely why President Ford pardoned Richard Nixon as his first act as President. The old Banana Republic argument will be hurled. Only Banana Republics jail the losers of political e******ns. The Clintons may very well be disgraced, but never jailed. Think about it. It is somewhat akin to what would happen if the left succeeded in removing President Trump. It isn't going to happen.

As always. who gets to decide what speech is acceptable and what isn't? It's the first major step to government control of thought. The millennials are to trying push he same thing on college campus'. That is precisely why our first amendment is so very important.

Precisely why we need to make people prove they are citizens, to v**e. The first time I registered to v**e, you had to be 21 years old then, I was required to present my birth certificate. At what point was that reduced to 'Motor V**er' and they took your word for it? With the truly scary things that the l*****ts are promoting, it become more important every day to make sure that there is no v***r f***d. Eleven million illegal v**es can destroy this country. Maryland has a city right now that wants to give i******s the v**e because they 'live' there in their city and are impacted by city decisions. This kind of thinking will destroy our country.

Read this the other day and it makes sense and bears repeating.

Think about it the next time someone complains that the rich people get the lion's share of a tax cut.

Let's put tax cuts in terms everyone can understand

Suppose that every day, ten men go out for beer and the bill for all ten comes to $100. If they paid their bill the way we pay our taxes, it would go something like this:

The first four men (the poorest) would pay nothing.
The fifth would pay $1.
The sixth would pay $3.
The seventh would pay $7.
The eighth would pay $12.
The ninth would pay $18.
The tenth man (the richest) would pay $59.

So, that's what they decided to do.

The ten men drank in the bar every day and seemed quite happy with the arrangement, until one day, the owner threw them a curve. "Since you are all such good customers," he said, "I'm going to reduce the cost of your daily beer by $20"Drinks for the ten now cost just $80.

The group still wanted to pay their bill the way we pay our taxes so the first four men were unaffected. They would still drink for free. But what about the other six men - the paying customers? How could they divide the $20 windfall so that everyone would get his 'fair share?'

They realized that $20 divided by six is $3.33. But if they subtracted that from everybody's share, then the fifth man and the sixth man would each end up being paid to drink his beer.

So, the bar owner suggested that it would be fair to reduce each man's bill by roughly the same amount, and he proceeded to work out the amounts each should pay.

And so:

The fifth man, like the first four, now paid nothing (100% savings).
The sixth now paid $2 instead of $3 (33%savings).
The seventh now pay $5 instead of $7 (28%savings).
The eighth now paid $9 instead of $12 (25% savings).
The ninth now paid $14 instead of $18 (22% savings).
The tenth now paid $49 instead of $59 (16% savings).

Each of the six was better off than before. And the first four continued to drink for free. But once outside the restaurant, the men began to compare their savings.

"I only got a dollar out of the $20,"declared the sixth man. He pointed to the tenth man," but he got $10!"

"Yeah, that's right," exclaimed the fifth man. "I only saved a dollar, too. It's unfair that he got ten times more than I!"

"That's true!!" shouted the seventh man. "Why should he get $10 back when I got only two? The wealthy get all the breaks!"

"Wait a minute," yelled the first four men in unison. "We didn't get anything at all. The system exploits the poor!"

The nine men surrounded the tenth and beat him up.

The next night the tenth man didn't show up for drinks, so the nine sat down and had beers without him. But when it came time to pay the bill, they discovered something important. They didn't have enough money between all of them for even half of the bill!

And that, boys and girls, journalists and college professors, is how our tax system works. The people who pay the highest taxes get the most benefit from a tax reduction. Tax them too much, attack them for being wealthy, and they just may not show up anymore. In fact, they might start drinking overseas where the atmosphere is somewhat friendlier.

For those who understand, no explanation is needed.
For those who do not understand, no explanation is possible

Everyone should read this. Unfortunately, forty percent of them still won't understand. They compare dollars not percentages. Too complicated for Progressives.
