I used to think I was just a regular guy, but . . ..

I was born white, which now, whether I like it or not, makes me a r****t.

I am a fiscal and moral conservative, which by today's standards, makes me a f*****t.

I am heterosexual, which according to gay folks, now makes me a h********c.

I am non-union, which makes me a t*****r to the working class and an ally of big business.

I am a Christian, which now labels me as an infidel.

I believe in the 2nd Amendment, which now makes me a member of the vast gun lobby.

I am older than 70, which makes me a useless old man.

I think and I reason, therefore I doubt much that the main stream media tells me, which must make me a reactionary.

I am proud of my heritage and our inclusive American culture, which makes me a xenophobe.

I value my safety and that of my family and I appreciate the police and the legal system, which makes me a right-wing extremist.

I believe in hard work, fair play, and fair compensation according to each individual's merits, which today makes me an anti-socialist.

I believe in the defense and protection of the homeland for and by all citizens, which now makes me a militant.

Now, a sick old woman is calling me and my friends a basket of deplorables.

Please help me come to terms with the new me . . . because I'm just not sure who I am anymore!

I would like to thank all my friends for sticking with me through these abrupt, new found changes in my life and my thinking!

I just can't imagine or understand what's happened to me so quickly!

Funny . . . it's all just taken place over the last 7 or 8 years! As if all this crap wasn't enough to deal with.

I'm now afraid to go into either restroom!

Isn’t it a shame all the people there and look what winds up running?? I say this every e******n year too..

When it comes to picking our poison perhaps we need to seek out candidates that have been in lower level positions of the political offices and not these head strong, greedy, money chasers that know exactly what to do to get themself promoted..

You know, like an everyday person that still knows what is best and wants to make a difference vs thosevwhom just want the money and prestige.. Wh**ever happened to our government officials being those who volunteered for the job instead of the elitist now??

Maybe we should take away these hefty salaries and benefits they now get and pay them for their time measured just like our is.. Sure wouldn’t have many then...

I remember a lot of that stuff from the 1960s. I was just a kid and I was neigh-eve as the day was long. I did have enough maturity to realize that something significantly had changed in our nation. As an example, I thought the young people who protested the war were nothing but lowlives and spoiled brats. As I got older I realize they were right. Why be sent to a foreign land to fight a war that your government had no intention of winning? The American People were lied to week in and week out. How can you have faith and trust in your leaders when they do such things? I can say two things. The first thing it was the beginnings of the kind of government we have today. It was based on lies, lies and more lies. The second was the revelation of the apathy and lack of involvement of the American People. It is sad what we have become as Americans. You reap what you sow!

From what I’ve been reading I personally believe we are looking to get away from the traditional politician and go with the anti-establishment environment filling Capitol Hill with them instead..

I also am not sure Ward is the best candidate either...

As for the 18% of v**ers I’ve read he supports sanctuary status and many in Arizona are wanting strict border patrol/control... He isn’t viewed as quite conservative enough in answering to what his constituents want. If they don’t get what they want they put you out as it should be.

Would you salute someone like me who has been a civilian the past 60 years? There was no kind of war going on when I served but I do wear a cap that says I was in the Army Security Agency during the Cold War. We more or less "spied" on the Russians and Iron Curtain countries' military forces. They tried to do the same thing to our forces but just weren't as good at it as we were. Proof of that is that we weren't allowed to go to Berlin because it was surrounded by the c*******t forces.

Read this the other day and it makes sense and bears repeating.


Think about it the next time someone complains that the rich people get the lion's share of a tax cut.

Let's put tax cuts in terms everyone can understand

Suppose that every day, ten men go out for beer and the bill for all ten comes to $100. If they paid their bill the way we pay our taxes, it would go something like this:



The first four men (the poorest) would pay nothing.
The fifth would pay $1.
The sixth would pay $3.
The seventh would pay $7.
The eighth would pay $12.
The ninth would pay $18.
The tenth man (the richest) would pay $59.

So, that's what they decided to do.



The ten men drank in the bar every day and seemed quite happy with the arrangement, until one day, the owner threw them a curve. "Since you are all such good customers," he said, "I'm going to reduce the cost of your daily beer by $20"Drinks for the ten now cost just $80.



The group still wanted to pay their bill the way we pay our taxes so the first four men were unaffected. They would still drink for free. But what about the other six men - the paying customers? How could they divide the $20 windfall so that everyone would get his 'fair share?'


They realized that $20 divided by six is $3.33. But if they subtracted that from everybody's share, then the fifth man and the sixth man would each end up being paid to drink his beer.


So, the bar owner suggested that it would be fair to reduce each man's bill by roughly the same amount, and he proceeded to work out the amounts each should pay.



And so:



The fifth man, like the first four, now paid nothing (100% savings).
The sixth now paid $2 instead of $3 (33%savings).
The seventh now pay $5 instead of $7 (28%savings).
The eighth now paid $9 instead of $12 (25% savings).
The ninth now paid $14 instead of $18 (22% savings).
The tenth now paid $49 instead of $59 (16% savings).



Each of the six was better off than before. And the first four continued to drink for free. But once outside the restaurant, the men began to compare their savings.



"I only got a dollar out of the $20,"declared the sixth man. He pointed to the tenth man," but he got $10!"



"Yeah, that's right," exclaimed the fifth man. "I only saved a dollar, too. It's unfair that he got ten times more than I!"



"That's true!!" shouted the seventh man. "Why should he get $10 back when I got only two? The wealthy get all the breaks!"



"Wait a minute," yelled the first four men in unison. "We didn't get anything at all. The system exploits the poor!"



The nine men surrounded the tenth and beat him up.



The next night the tenth man didn't show up for drinks, so the nine sat down and had beers without him. But when it came time to pay the bill, they discovered something important. They didn't have enough money between all of them for even half of the bill!



And that, boys and girls, journalists and college professors, is how our tax system works. The people who pay the highest taxes get the most benefit from a tax reduction. Tax them too much, attack them for being wealthy, and they just may not show up anymore. In fact, they might start drinking overseas where the atmosphere is somewhat friendlier.
