Obama is not the worst. But, he is making Carter look better.
Thank you all for your respectful comments. I am really hoping we can delve into this topic deeper, which involve a bit of sharing research. Here is a commentary from the Cato Institute

Here is an article What would the Senate look like without the 17th amendment...good read.
http://news.yahoo.com/senate-look-without-17th-amendment-095822973.html
The 17th amendment was a change made to the constitution in 1913 it removed the states' legislatures authority/accountability.
Next, What would be the process? Defining/overcoming barriers?
Looking for engaging discussion without name calling that would challenge my thinking on this topic.
Before I share my thoughts I'd like to hear yours. Please, if interested, dig into this a bit. Let's delve into a good discussion.

This article is a classic example of a common logical fallacy. He is making a conclusion based on incorrect data.
This research is the strongest to date to document that states with higher levels of gun ownership have disproportionately large numbers of deaths from firearm-related homicides, he said. While three sentences earlier he states
"In the absence of state-level data on household gun ownership, the study used a proxy variable the percentage of a states suicides committed with a firearm that has been validated in previous research."
How can say there is a "convincing statistical link" using a proxy variable? Validation of this proxy variable by previous research (no citation given). The study is using suicide data to make a conclusion about homicide.
I wasn't willing to pay $35 to read the article.
Did you just say that Medicare is the best plan in the country? How so?
Medicare reimbursement rates to Dr. & hospitals continue to drop. More Dr.s are not accepting Medicare patients. Even those on Medicare need to have insurance to cover expenses beyond Medicare (aka Medicare Advantage).
When you file for SS you must enroll in Medicare--regardless.
I still do not see how you determine that this is the best plan in the country!
Let us not forget that it was the rebels to started the fight. Assad may rule with a heavy hand, but in some cases that what illiterate people need. The rebels can end this by returning to their countries and stop the fighting, but they won't. These conflicts in the Middle East have gone on for centuries--has anyone here heard of Issac and Ishmael?
Nearly 50% of Americans pay no federal income taxes at all. Some of them even receive money from the earned income credit. It is surprising how the majority of this 50% are the ones pointing their finger at the rich (who pay a lot in taxes). One percent of a million dollars is more than 100% of nothing. This class warfare has to stop for things to get better. The Gov't job is not to redistribute the wealth.
Regardless, it will all be a mute point soon, as we have already gone over the fiscal cliff and don't realize it. There is no possible way we can repay the nearly 17 Trillion dollar debt. In just a few short years we will not be able to pay the interest on that debt.
Obama stated many times that Assad regime used chemical weapons. No trial, no jury, no evidence, but he has made a conclusion. There is much evidence to point to the rebels that is being ignored. There is an internationally recognized court for war crimes, but he has provided no evidence. The Russians have provided 100 page report detailing evidence that it was the rebels who used gas. If it is proven the rebel used the gas would Obama be willing to bomb them?
