Too bad for cruz and pauli, the majority of their audience was comprised of geezers already on Medicare. For the very dumb conservatards, Medicare is a government run health program for geezers, one of the best available plans in the country.
Very bad optics for the teabag crowd, and proof that the conservatards even h**e themselves. Bet none of the geezers want to give their Medicare coverage, and they are whining because the over-paid Medicare Advantage program was brought in line with traditional Medicare plans.

Well now, isn't that what the conservatives are always yapping about? Everybody needs to pay something, no free anything. Seems like that is what the want. You should be happy

Okay, this is just the sort of thing I've been talking about in other posts; using negatively-connotated words to describe someone, or "labeling". Such things as "geezers on Medicare" as a descriptor for a group of people, for instance. As it happens, I and my wife both could fit into that group. I am 71, and I'm a cancer patient, living on insurance and Workman's Comp. My wife is 67, and on Social Security Disability.

I have been a licensed Aircraft Maintenance Technician for 40+ years, and I feel insulted that you arbitrarily choose to lump me into your "geezers" group. My wife worked in a large medical center for 18 years, winning Employee of the Month several times, and Employee of the Year once. She feels insulted by you for the same reason.

Why don't you partake of a little thoughtful introspection before you start with the generalized name-calling? It's poor technique in a discussion, and does nothing but make others mad and discount any real and valid points you might try to make.

As a liberal, I would ask you to cease the name calling, etc. I can tell you are intelligent enough to just state your opinion and facts without doing so.

The names I chose are in fact 'generalizations', and not directed at anyone in particular, however, the point is that the conservative movement is trying to destroy the ACA and most social programs, while many are using the very same programs.
But here is the deal, if and when certain posters refrain from calling the president the names they do, such as marxist, c****e, kenyan, muslim, Oillegal, Odummy, Obummy and ad nauseum, I will cease and desist from most name calling. I doubt that will happen.

I choose to try and keep my post a bit more civil than you , there are reasons the right is so vitriolic in it's comments , one the quality of those who do comment who call the president names is in most part low and they also do the same with people who disagree with them
one reason is that a black man has occupied the icon of white power
another reason is the right fears the demographic changes taking place in our country
And that fear is just going to intensify as we get closer to the midterm e******ns and if they lose more ground the vileness will only increase
And as these changes take place their strategy is to move farther right further exacerbating the situation, I almost feel sorry for them

But people take them personally. I too get angry at the name-calling (and I admit replying in the same ilk), but to stand here and call each other names is "schoolyard stuff" and doesn't solve a single problem.

Did you just say that Medicare is the best plan in the country? How so?

Medicare reimbursement rates to Dr. & hospitals continue to drop. More Dr.s are not accepting Medicare patients. Even those on Medicare need to have insurance to cover expenses beyond Medicare (aka Medicare Advantage).
When you file for SS you must enroll in Medicare--regardless.

I still do not see how you determine that this is the best plan in the country!

I agree. I recently had a bladder infection. My bill for one office visit after medicare was over $250. They take $100 a month out of my SS and if I want more coverage I have to buy private insurance.
My wife (retired) pays $61 a month for Medical and Life insurance. Her Dental is an additional $51 a month. That comes to $111 a month for Full medical including prescriptions, Dental. and Life. That being the case she turned down Medicare.

Your president took $700B out of Medicare and rolled it over into Obamacare and Medicaid. Obamacare will also eliminate the Medicare Advantage medical insurance plans. The long range plan is to dissolve Medicare and roll it all into Obamacare. So, get ready for lower quality care, longer waits, higher costs. it's a comin'!
