You know, I have thought a while about your proposition and for the life of me I can't think of any good "Liberal" policies. Clean air was no doubt a good idea but as usual the libs take things too far. For example, they want to stop using coal to produce electricity. Thousands of jobs are being lost and the price of electricity is going up. Same thing with using ethanol in gasoline. It ruins engines and drives up the price of gas as well as increases food prices. Clean air, a good idea, forcing it down our throats ahead of technology and not thinking through consequences, not so good.

State some more good Liberal policies or ideas you have aroused my curiosity.

Absolutely right on target. The Democrat Party exists in word only. Previous democrats would be ashamed of the Democrat Party of today, and today's democrats are not liberals - they are progressives, socialists, and communists. All democrats who are NOT progs, socialists, and communists should be ashamed of the party and leave it if they see themselves as good Americans, because you are not the same as the people who dominate the party today. It is NOT the party of your parents, your grandparents, etc. It has turned EVIL and totally degraded. Please, I beg all of you who see yourselves as good Americans - LEAVE the democrat party because it THRIVES on desecration and desolation. You are probably too close to see it. I am a Libertarian who, after 50 years, resigned from the Republican Party because I could finally see it differed so very little from the Democrat Party. Good people don't remain with evil people telling them how to do things. It just doesn't work that way.

If all good people who are liberals walked away from the democrat party today, our country would be a LOT better off than it is as we speak. If all good people who are conservatives walked away from the republican party today, our country would be a LOT better off than it is as we speak. NEITHER PARTY IS WORKING FOR THE GOOD OF THE NATION.

You are so right! Todays Republican Party is run by the RINOs and good old boys, who have been in office way too long. I grew up as a Democrat, but my family was "Scoop" Jackson fiscal conservative Democrats, which to equate to today, would be to the right of the RINOs. The current Democrat Party has been hi-jacked by the radical left, and most Democrats still have not figured that out.

We need term limits.

I also thank those of you that served our rights for freedom and would like to return to the main question. I consider myself an independent and have voted for people of both parties when I consider the best candidate for our country.
One of the problems congress faces is that many well meaning and valuable bills are introduced on the floor that would help our country and it's people. However, by the time it works it's way through congress, the house and Senate, one cannot even recognize it as the same bill when ready for a vote. With all the changes, earmarks, politically invested party language and language allowing interpretation either way by Depts. of control.
This type activity causes excuse to rise the arguments between parties causing conflict that causes inactivity by anyone.
Then there's the leaders refusal to floor bills they disagree with from both parties. This being allowed is shameful.
We need a congress of common sense without personal investment or profit.

My deceased brother would say, "You can always tell a liberal, but you can't tell them much," the problem being that just watching on TV, liberals do not allow telling contrary points and talk over the response until the time is up. Or like in Obama's case, take 7 minutes to answer a Yes or No question, without ever answering the question. That is what is wrong with liberals.

I do not always think that all liberala are bad just that old saying one rotten apple makes the bag bad. The converatives also have their faults. They are to wishy washy no bad bone, they do not stand up for what they believe. I guess I am just not very happy with the way our country is headed right now. It seems no matter what they all have their faults. I do believe that the cleaning up the air is a very good idea. I think that becoming a socialist country is a very bad idea. Most people want less government and they become ficisally responible in Washington. We are about to embark upon another debt crisis and they want to raise the debt celling. WHEN WILL THESE CONSERATIVE AND LIBERALS EVER GET THE MESSAGE WE ARE TIRED OF THIS SPENDING OUT OF CONROL. Who is with me on that one?

How can u say any thing good about the liberals when they blame everything that happens negative on the Bush conservatives. It seems to me when Bush was president the liberal were just as much if not more bashing him for some thing. Now they do nothing but praise Obama, and all wrongs is Bushes fault. Question when will the liberals grow up and learn to take responsibility for their own actions here.

All true conservatives are with you on getting spending under control and practicing fiscal responsibility. That DEFINES conservatism. The problem is, most people think Republicans are conservative - most of the Republican elected officials are not conservative at all. I think what everybody should start doing is this: don't call people and things labels that do not fit the description. For instance, I am a conservative libertarian, once a conservative republican.......until I finally accepted the fact that no politicians were ever going to start acting conservatively. Democrats need to accept the fact that their elected officials are NOT liberal..........they are progressives/socialists.

All of our politicians cater to the loudest protesters and the loudest protesters are usually those who don't know a senator from a turnip. What has happened is that the politicians are growing their voter base by voting in all the taxpayer paid for goodies for those who panhandle rather than work. MOST people are in favor of helping those truly in need. MOST people do not believe there are MILLIONS in this country going hungry, or, indeed, going without medical care, going without clothes, going without transportation.

There are more conservatives in this country than progressives. But we don't spend all our time whining, whipping up sit-ins, etc - we conservatives are too busy with jobs and maintaining our budgets to do all the crap that progs do. Hence the progs get almost everything they whine for and the conservatives get virtually nothing they want. Problem for progs is to keep the conservatives paying for all the toys and unnecessary programs that the progs want. If I had the power to do so, I'd defund every blasted one of them.

Not much a person could add to that. I've heard some say to change the party, democrat or republican, from the ground up. The problem is that once the D.C. establishment hears about a grass roots candidate running for national office, they either find a D.C. like candidate to run against the other guy OR they until the good candidate gets to D.C. and then tell him to play corruption ball with the rest or be a one termer. If we can't change either party, then it's time to look at starting new.
