That's challenging in that the House acquiesced to the Senate doing they because nothing could be passed in the House acceptable to the Senate. There were also some critical time constraints that allowed the Senate to create and pass the bill down. Not only that, it is not unusual for legislation to be created that way so long as the House approves it and passes it back to the Senate.

Getting back to the topic at hand, the most notable good about a liberal...or conservative...is that each provides an opposing view/approach to matters at hand.

Without such opposing views, our country would be on the quick downslide into a totalitarian society. Neither side would be happy with that, even though it would seem utopian, at first, to the controlling faction. A reasonable balance between ideological views is necessary for an ideal government.

Be happy there are opposing factors in our country. Even though there is always one side unhappy...politics, like life, is cyclical. Each gets their turn to succeed...or screw up! :mrgreen: Then, the other gets their chance, again. :roll:

What the heck does the 1/8th part have to do with anything? Do you think that is what determines your behavior? It might attribute to your attitude, but the other 7/8th probably have a lot more to do with it. You can certainly have respect for your heritage, but how does it fit into the modern world. Sometimes we use these things as an excuse for thinking.
