changing it to schedule lll drug . After the facts are in it only slowed
the usage by a whooping 3%. So 97 % of old and lame people
suffer with pain because of his insane government knows what's
best policy's. Folks please wake up ,he chases fish in the barrel

Yes Medicare Advantage is an add on to regular medicare I believe The .16% decrease is going to affect 2.8million seniors in FL(many on fixed incomes) a decrease of $33.00/mo on supplemental benefits according to th article. Well I still have 15yrs or more until I need medicare I think. I also don't know what this will do here in ALabama. It is an issue to keep tabs. on. It is of course not good news for FL seniors.

They always blame the republicans, when they are the guilty party. They were also the ones that started taxing us on it, now we have to pay income tax on it, and it has gone to 85%, if you are retired, and still working, or if you have any kind of pension that you don’t have taxes taken out of it. They are calling it income, but it shouldn’t be
termed as income, we paid into this plan since any of us started working, and already paid taxes on it. Biden has voted for the tax increase every time the decided they needed more of our money, like Pelosi did when she
impeached Trump, took it from Social Security. If they would keep their greedy paws off it, it would be solvent, but they just can’t help themselves, probably why so many seniors are having to work, my husband and I did, and many others have to as well. I don’t mind working as it actually is good for you, and gets you out, and about, instead of just sitting around all day. I thank God I am late 70’s, and still able to work, praise God, Hope I stay in good health for many more years. But the point is, this was supposed to not be touched, but the dem’s decided different, too much of a temptation for their stupid projects, and the Republicans are guilty too, but the dem’s are the ones that decided to tax us. If you only get social security, and no pension, you don’t have to file, or so I heard, not sure about that either, either way, government t needs to keep their paws off our money. Wish they all had to live off social security for a couple of months, and see how well they fare, guarantee you, they couldn’t make it.

For the longest time I have wonder why does Congress need to fund Medicare or Social Security? I thought that we the people pay into these 2 funds to be able to use them in retirement. And I think that the people who receive pay checks are still paying into them. I understand that when these funds had huge surpluses, that Congress borrowed from these funds with IOUs and then somehow made these funds part of the budget. If Congress had not done this to these 2 funds, there would be plenty of money to fund our benefits. Another example of how our government has regularly misused funds and destroyed programs, both democrats and Republicans.

Exactly, and yes my husband and I both worked, and they took taxes out, but we didn’t get any increase in benefits, and had to pay 85% of our social security funds earned to irs. This is so screwed up, that is why we need to have people in Congress that are every day working folks, instead of nose like Biden who never held a job outside of government. They don’t have a clue what an average person has to go through, trying to make it in this high inflation world he has put us in.

good morning Mrs. Smitty... what a way to start my saturday morning.. just get finished with Saturday cartoons and now I contend with a post I mostley agree with..

But while we agree on the substance, I feel the need for a bit of correction... the 85% is not the rate of taxation, but the amount of you SS which could be taxed depending on threshold rules.. If you get SS taxed at all depends on the money you make other than SS... I do not know the amount needed for the start of taxing.. it is however a graduated slope..

Then, who started this evil action?? Your hero Ronnie Raygun, needed more tax revenue to keep his trickle down from full collapse. So in '84, he came up with a tax plane to "save" SS..it passed and then ronnie took over a trillion $$ from the supposed trust fund, moved it to the general fund and saved his reaganomics and let the SS go to heck.. And from that time on, every politician walking the sidewalks of Washington has felt free and proud to take the same thing.. the stack of IOUs if paid back would save the SS but will that ever happen???? Your guess is as good as mine and I doubt it very much..

Have a nice weekend.

Yes, correct, they tax you at 85% of your ss income, if you file as a single filer, and you earn $25,000 to $34,000, you pay 50% of your ss income, if married, filing jointly, and earning is over $34,000 you pay 85% of ss income to irs. Seems to me they should make those earnings to be maybe start a little higher, but you know how the government is.
By the way that is a beautiful cat picture. I have a 19 pound flame point that is beautiful, but scared of everything. He hides in cabinets. I have my teen grandson who has always lived with me, and he is rowdy, adhd, etc, and the cat is scared of him, so when he hears him coming, he runs to the washroom mostly, and jumps on top of the dryer, and opens the cabinet, and goes in. He loves me, snuggles up to me in bed, and takes his front paws and wraps them around my arm, and squeezes me. Never had one do that.
Have a wonderful week end.
