Republicans voted against a red flag law which could have prevented recent shootings. People give clues to their intentions.
And as far as settling disputes, having a gun on your hip is similar having liquid courage only guns are more consequential then fists.
Children shot and get shot a lot, one I read of today, because guns are so normalized they get left about.
1) Reed Flag laws are unConstitutional. 2)As for having a gun on your hip is like liquid courage...not so. I teach concealed carry and the first four hours of the class are Situational Awareness and Conflict Avoidance. I teach how to keep from using your gun until all other measures have been used up. 3) Children in home that have firearms MUST be taught to not touch them...they are not toys or something to be messed with. When I was growing up dad's pistols were in his sock drawer, the long guns were in the fruit room. None were "locked" up. If you were putting dad's sock away you saw the pistols and if you needed to get a jar of peas out of the room under the stairs you saw the long guns, but in both instances you knew you weren't to touch them. Dad would have warmed our back sides. You didn't touch his tools either. We had boundres. If you can't teach your children to not touch there are plenty of fast aacting gun safes at reasonable prices. Again if you are going to own a gun be a responcible gun owner.
