He isn't going anywhere,,,, this is all a play for sympathy.. his whole life is a smoke screen for self pity, ergo the pathological nature of the stories,,, the lies provide him with the "image" of what he could have, and wanted to have been,,,, "if I just wasn't a victim..."
I got popped on a sobriety checkpoint in CA,,, didn't get a dui, but the Marines sent me to AA for a year,, 3 nights a week! I paid attention though, and I learned a lot about drunks,,, what they really want is for you to continue to wallow in the shit of their lives, taking responsibility for it.
Drunks/addicts are liars,,, worst of all, to themselves, and they will never face the truth until they hit rock bottom,,, which is why he crawls in the bottle, why he rages, why he insults,, and why he is as mean to others as he is. All the while, becrying that treatment from anyone who doesn't buy either his bs story, or terms of association.
Like a drunk/addict, once they are found out, they will contort to ANY dimension, shape, or even promises,,, even religion, to get you off their trail.
What he is doing right now is bargaining, and trying to garner sympathy, recruiting others to his point of view, and convince himself, that HE is actually the victim,,, always the victim. If he gets a single support thread he will never face the problems he has created, the lies he tells, or the lies he is living elsewhere, guaranteed, he is worse than this elsewhere... that is what abuse around alcoholics is about, the lie, the lie to cover it up with, and the lie to keep you thinking it is really you, not him.
Yeah,,,, I baited him somewhat,, but I could recognize very early, the signs of an alcoholic/addict and their dazed and distorted world,,, he is smart though, and this was one of the hardest I have ever done... he fought getting found out for a long time, and THAT is why he is angry now, that he was beaten at his own game, he got too cocky.
One thing they kept saying in AA,,,,, that it took a long time to understand was, "You cant fool a fooler" and a fooler, caught this fool, and that is what he really is po'd about. Once you see it in action, you can deal with it, but it is never easy. Especially for the drunk/addict.... they have a lot of tricks up their sleeves.
MOst people wont take the time either,,, because it isn't fun, it is dirty slimy work, getting into the brain of a drunk or an addict.
