It would be the further dumbing down of the college educated group. If college is free, everyone will want to go to avoid working for another four years, and given the state of our public education system many are not qualified. So then what? Lower the standards? Offer even more pud courses and pud majors that are of no value in real life but will fill the classrooms? Meanwhile colleges/universities are raking in the dough ... because they have no incentive to reduce costs ... while putting out a new crop of graduates every year that will become permanent job hunters because they have worthless degrees. On the other hand, I suppose they could always go into politics ... it seems that not much is required there except to learn how to cheat and scam people, which is how they got that degree to begin with. .

I have a tenth-grade education from a private school. I'm better edumacated than most people with a 2-year college degree. Fact.

🤪 Well. Some college grads know some things that I don't, but overall I believe my education is more well-rounded than most. I scored a 93 when I tested for my GED.
Then I joined the Navy, learned basic electronics, and got to work on the biggest freakin guns in the world. I've been to every continent except Antartica, circumnavigate the Earth, and had a lot of fun doing it. I don't regret any of it.

You have had some great life experiences! I am envious! And, you are right there is much more to an education than just book learnin' .... especially in subjects that are meaningless in how to deal with real life issues or events ...
