Remember we older folks have a secret way of writing that the younger generation can't decipher, cursive.

A friend of mine wouldn't stay off the phone so her dad (who worked for Ma Bell) installed a pay phone😳🤣🤣

I always like when people talk on their phone while holding it like a slice of pizza. 🍕

The worst are those who don't seem to understand that the phone carries their voice to the person they're talking to without them having to shout the message to be heard across town or wherever the other party happens to be, so everybody for thirty yards around has to listen to the problems they're having with their nephew Gomer and how Lucille can't get the stain out of her ski jacket.

Or in traffic when the phone is blasting thru the bluetooth and car windows are open.....😠

Very true, guess we really are just one big family, lol. My favorite is when you see people eating out at a restaurant and someone takes a call at the table, geeez. Is there such a thing as phone etiquette? Guess not.

I used to nag my youngest daughter at how much she would stare at her phone, or text, while we were in a restaurant. One day we were having dinner and a teenaged couple were sitting across from us, not talking, just staring at their phones and texting. I asked my daughter if she thought they were texting each other. I got the "Oh, MOTHER" eyeroll, but I got a good laugh out of it😋😋😋

It's even worse when you see a young couple in an expensive restaurant and you can tell it's way beyond what the young man can afford, but he's into taking his girlfriend out for a romantic dinner... And she's texting and having a great time with her smart phone while he sits there looking lonely.

The funniest thing I have seen was my daughter sitting on one end of the couch and her boyfriend sitting on the other (as a dad, that's a good thing), they each had their phones out and texting. They were having a fight and doing it through their phones. At least it was quiet in the House.

Ma Bell used to have some interesting perks for its employees and retirees. My grandfather worked for Northwestern Bell back in the 50s before his stroke forced him to retire. Back then when you got a phone, you had to pay for each phone jack and the phones had to be rented from the phone company. Because he was part of the phone company, he got the jacks and phones for free and that was a life time deal. I know kids today don't understand that at one time most households only had one phone and some areas, usually rural, it was a party line meaning that a number of homes in the area shared the same line and you could even listen in on the neighbors.

We all managed to survive, and life seemed better or should I say sweeter, we seem to be losing the human touch(metaphorically) more and more, look how we are controlled by technology on a daily basis with all of our beeps and buzzers. sigh

We were in heaven when we got a 10 foot cord for our wall phone. Lol No voicemail. If no one answered you called back later. No big deal.
