Instant gratification, brought to us by a technological boom that's also eliminated the perceived need to teach the rudiments of anything to young people.

That's why pandemonium ensues when "the computer is down."

"Look THAT up in your Funk 'n Wagnalls" was a tag line on a '60's or '70's comedy show, possibly Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In.

It was risqué because "Funk 'n" was dangerously close to you-know-what but the censors let it pass.

Yes. I've often wondered what would happen to young people who refuse to learn basic sk**ls of math, living, etc if the computers STAYED down...

Dick Martin used to say it.

I always got a chuckle when he did, and that's why I find it appropriate now.

We'd have a new stone age cluttered with ultra modern junk that doesn't work because no one can maintain it.

Instead of a club, the new cave men would be hitting the woman over the head with a laptop before d**gging her off to their cave.

The Farkles were hilarious. It definitely showcased the extreme talent of everyone involved just pulling off those really funny fast paced dialogues.

I don't think we'll ever see that kind of talent and really, really funny comedy skits again.

Absolutely! Today's young people don't have a clue about how much great stuff they missed, and most probably never will explore and find any of it.

It would probably not be allowed to air a program like that today. Too much would be considered politically incorrect.

Oh yeah, there's that. There's bound to be someone, somewhere, who will either be offended or if not, ordered to be offended by the Democrat speech police.

Yes, it's sad. Except rock music. Kids today are STILL listening to stuff from the 60s and early 70s

My favorite comedy movie was Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World, mostly from it being one of my best memories going to the movies with the whole family and laughing our ass's off, along with the entire theater's audience, haven't seen anything like it since. Good times, simpler times.
