When I worked in an employee capacity, I never joined a union and never had a problem. Good raises, bonuses, benefits, promotions, etc...
My best friend did join a union, however, and they screwed him royally to the point that he had to take them to court to get them to fulfill their end of the contract.
You lefties continually put out this BS that every employer is out to screw his/her/their workers every chance they get, and only a union can protect them. That's got to have something to do with Democrats,

Every company I ever worked for both compensated and promoted based on merit (asset value). If you did good work they took care of you, if you goofed off they first tried to motivate you and if that didn't work, hasta la bye bye.
But wait! I think I know where you're coming from, there, Peter -- you're speaking from personal experience, as one of those lazy employees whose job performances are at best tepid, who work for local government or other civil service and can't get fired because of the union, right?
