Most of the illegal aliens I have seen are contributing to the economy, not taking from it. They work hard, pay into SSA, even though they will never draw on it.

Our history of bringing in immigrants has never been very good for the immigrants. When the Iriah were coming in because of the potato famine, the signs said "No dogs or Irish allowed." When it was the Italians it was just as derogatory. Same with the Chinese when they were building the railroads. When the Vietnamese came in during the 70's, they caught the same flack. I think only the blacks were welcomed with open arms, and oh yeah, chains.

For a good economy, unemployment should be around 5%. That is normal with people moving from one job to another. When it is below 5%, that is a sign we need more workers. Our economy needs more Mexicans to do grunt work.

We should be having government programs that are bringing workers in, vetting them in the process. Building walls that keep foreigners out is counter productive. Having strong Ports of Entry with good immigrant screening programs will keep the drugs out and our economy growing.

Treating people derogatorily doesn't really help anything.

We don't need illegal aliens to do the work. Get rid of half the government workers that do nothing but sit and drink coffee all day waiting for the time to go home. They are as bad as some of our politicians, do nothing but prepare for the next election.

What you are referring to is called "illegal aliens" who are trespassing and in some cases squatting on our land. They have no legal right to be here, and they have broken the law by sneaking here. I feel bad for those people who want to immigrate to America the legal way, learning the language, having physical and mental exams and taking an oath to abide by our Constitution.

I'm sick of those who want to re-name something because it suits their political agenda. They are ILLEGAL ALIENS. Period.

What stopped them from employing foreigners legally? With work visas?

It’s all about the pay and intimidation! Once they get citizenship the rules change! A lot of illegals demand equal pay once they’re here

There's no reason Americans can't do the grunt stuff and we need to quit buying into that utter nonsense.

WE need to pick apples, clean hotel rooms, catch fish and work landscaping...

A real economy is built from the bottom up. Prices go up but so do wages and the cost of government goes down.

The post-WWII generations have forgotten all about the Great Depression, the Dust Bowl and what folks did when they had to.

When teens cut grass, work in restaurants and Walmarts they don't spend so much time on their asses or with their eyes glued to a cell phone AND they fill a necessary economic slot.

This idea Americans won't do something is a repellant attempt to brainwash them in my opinion.

Why does ICE always raid workplaces???

Not always. Sometimes it's courthouses or police stations where they are being held. ICE goes wherever they are. They arrest or fine the bosses too, it's a crime to have undocumented workers. Paying under the table is tax evasion.

The true method of how to get rid of these scum is to heavily fine those that employ them..Americans must understand that these people’s le do not want to become Americans. They simply want to reap whatever benefits they can claim. Any extra money made here goes straight back to their home country. Once there the money is saved or used to build houses or property. That money is gone from our country forever. No taxes paid! Cut off the social benefits, fine the people that hire them and they will go home or at least somewhere else.

Because they take American jobs, they work for less and steal Americans SS#s. Dangerous for women with bad bosses. Put out or I call ICE. Businesses need to pay a living wage or use family members or go broke, but not hire illegals. Automation is advancing rapidly, a lot of plant picking and tree shaking machine harvesters now. CA. and sanctuary cities are releasing murderers back into the local population, not good, they need to go back home and come in legally and get their own SS# and so we can vet them.

When I had my CPA firm, I had several clients that had high numbers of undocumented workers. They were both in highly regulated specialized construction fields. The work is very hard, labor intensive.

I asked both of them why they didn't hire legal workers. They told me, both, independently, that normal workers couldn't or wouldn't do the required work.

When they had certified payrolls, they were paying a minimum of $48 per hour, so these weren't cheap jobs. They could only get illegals to fill the jobs. They had a few legals, but not many.

I have heard that that is the same situation on many farm jobs in the midwest. There are a lot of industries, some seasonal, that are limited because they can only get illegals to do the work. When ICE makes their raids, it puts them out of business. Most of the illegals are hard workers because that don't have any other choices.

This is a more complex issue than some of you are making it out to be.

Once automation advances they'll be out of a job again. We need to send them home now otherwise they will become criminals down the road. Because they aren't legal and don't plan to become legal because the wait is too long and they are already here. Americans will do dirty jobs but can't get them because illegals have them.

You are so right. All of us should take every opportunity to correct the incorrect "undocumented immigrant" term put out by the leftists to confuse people unable or unwilling to think for themselves. We do not need the illegal foreigners to be grouped with those here legally because there is a vast difference in the one word "LEGAL." It is amazing that millions of American citizens are so easily manipulated by this simple but incorrect use of words. But the leftists use this ploy many times every day over and over.

The only ones who they can get are the illegals. And it wasn't because they were cheaper. Both of them were non union shops, so they had to pay more than the union shops because they don't have retirement plans. There are not that many unemployed legals available on the west coast. They already have jobs and don't want to do the study to get certified for the work.

You're piling dung atop of fecal matter.

There is a misconception that the illegal immigrants do the jobs that Americans won't do. After ICE raided the chicken plants in Mississippi (I think I remember correctly) this summer, there were lines of Americans waiting to apply for the jobs. What needs to be done is to require employers to use the e-verify system when hiring new employees. If illegals are caught working at the company and they passed the e-verify system, the company does not suffer any consequences. However, if the company did not use the e-verify system, they should suffer the full consequences of the law. This should apply no matter where the illegal comes from. I have friends and coworkers from Central America. Most of whom are hard workers (some of the younger people need to lose the entitlement attitude and get a work ethic, but that's all a part of growing up no matter where you come from).
