Please point out the "poor translation."
Genesis 4:1:

Adam made love to his wife Eve, and she became pregnant and gave birth to Cain. She said, "With the help of the LORD I have brought forth a man."

I have to admit; Genesis 4:1 is hard to refute that Adam was the father of Cain also.
I would like to have a Hebrew scholar give the translation of that verse.
That sometimes clarifies a poor translation.
