I agree with you. Can you even imagine the corruption Hillary would have had. Pay for Play with every country in the world. The Clinton Foundation would be receiving Trillions of dollars a month in political bribes.
Truly frightening.

Hey Arch. Hope you’re doing well. I’m a member of the NRA. You ever hear any NRA members wanting a Civil War? Closest thing I ever see to mob violence comes from the left. ANTIFA. Students when a Conservative speaks. Black lives Matter. Didn’t see much of that crap from the right when Obama was President and we sure as hell didn’t like him.

Yep. When violence comes, it won't be from NRA members. It will be answered by them.

I’ve heard a lot of this “civil war 2.0” type talk lately. Even I was guilty of believing something like this could happen at one point.

It is no secret that the political division in this country is pretty high right now. Name-slinging has become rampant. I’ve even lost some friends and stopped talking to certain family members because of it. However, I highly doubt that we will end up having a 2nd civil war right now. At least it probably wouldn’t be a hot war if we did.

The reason: Because father would have to go up against son. Mother against daughter. Sister against brother. Aunt against uncle. And cousin against aunt. Friends would also have to take up arms against friends. Co-workers against coworkers, etc.

I just don’t see this happening.

You see, during the time of the civil war, most families thought the same about certain issues. Whole areas often shared the same sentiments. Most pro-slavery sentiments were confined to the south while most anti-slavery sentiments were in the “north”. What we see today is much different. Families no longer think alike. Today, the kids of die-hard conservative parents might go off to college and become die hard liberals. Today, people in big cities tend to be more liberal so if you live in one of those areas, you might find yourself disagreeing with family members from more rural areas.

Also, there is a wide and densely scattered political party affiliation in the US today. So no, if Democrats successfully impeach Trump, conservatives and Trump supporters might get angry for a bit, but it would most likely quickly fizzle out once a new president was elected.

Neither ideological group would get any more angry than they already are at each other. Whatever political division can be had has already been created. If the parties aren’t already mad at one another for everything that’s happened just over the last two years, then they probably will never be mad enough, even if Trump were impeached.

In today’s political environment, if you haven’t already chosen hard sides by now, then you probably never will. And for the people that have chosen hard sides, Trump’s hypothetical impeachment couldn’t make sentiments any worse than they already are.

If we were going to have a civil war over Trump, we would have already had one in the last couple years.

Personally, I'd like to send all the Trump supporters and the loudest Trump haters to a deserted Island somewhere - and let them have their civil war. While they're walloping each other over there, the rest of us could enjoy some relatively stress free days.

Well the Trump supporters would win but I won’t be there. No politician is worth spilling blood over. Mine or theirs.

I don't know, there are some really scary people who would be opposing the Trump supporters.

ANTIFA, transgenders, BLM, Snowflakes. I don’t know. Of course you have to define Trump supporter. As in crazy enough to go to an island and fight other Americans.

Ridiculous. It comes from a simple mind (Trump) to influence simple minds.
This shows what Trump thinks of the mental capacity of the American voter.

Fake news. I bought and old car and ran a test on what side was more destructive. I put a Hillary sticker on the old car 1st and parked it in a conservative neighborhood for 3 days. Not 1 scratch was found on it. Then, I put a Trump, MAGA bumper sticker on it and parked it for 3 days in a leftist neiborhood. Low and behold, my old car was keyed up on both sides, the back end and a window was broken too. My Trump sign was spray painted over and a Nazi emblem was spray painted on the front window. My conclusion; the left is most destructive, don't send your kids to any leftist university and stay away from large cities to avoid destructive leftists. If you are a conservative, give your loved ones a Bible and pray for their healing from leftist anti-Christian values.

This would actually make for a fascinating study...

How exactly would one determine the political/sociological leanings of a given neighborhood though?

Voting results by precinct will give you an idea of what area holds what political views.

I don't conflate Democrats with Leftists..

There are many voting Democrats who are centralist in their views...

As there are only two Parties it is exceedingly difficult to determine exactly how any area falls under any political/social demographic...

Also.. One would need to take cultural differences into account... An upscale (Democrat) neighborhood would certainly produce different results from an impoverished (Democratic) neighborhood...

The same could be said for Republicans....

Correlation does not necessarily equate to causality.

Or of the subset of individuals within the neighborhood prone to violence as opposed to sulking or internet activism?

I disagree - having been born and raised in Missouri, which straddled the Mason-Dixon Line - families were shattered and fought on opposite sides of a very hot war.

It’s not the impeachment of Trump himself that would bring heighten hostilities, it would be symbolic of what that means. For many on the right, this sham and illegal process the Democrats are using will be intolerable. ‘If the Dems get away with lawlessly doing away with the fundamental principle of due process - and can do this to the president- just think of what they can do to ordinary citizens they disagree with’.

I think you would be very surprised at what would come next.

Go online after any election and if the precinct voted 800 votes for Trump and 2 votes for Clinton, you have your basic results. Also if an area is crime ridden you know it's a demonrat favoring voting area. Easy as pie Canuckus. Don't make a simple matter complex. If I parked my car in your driveway with a Hitlary bumper sticker I would expect you not to vandalize my car. If I parked my car with a Trump bumper sticker in Kev's , Perm' s or Errorforce1's driveway, I would expect it to be keyed.
