If your conclusion is to allow insurance companies to deny coverage to persons with pre-existing conditions, that would eliminate about half of the persons seeking coverage. Who pays the medical bills for the uncovered population? Only the rich can afford to get sick.

I already told you I want pre-existing covered. High risk pool with means testing. If we are to be a compassionate country and cover everyone as we should then everyone should have skin in the game. Don’t care if it’s $10 a year. Everyone needs to Be involved. Also not even close on pre-existing because what that stood for was uninsurable. So 50 % would not be uninsurable. Premiums for the healthy would be greatly reduced and we would have competition.

We are a compassionate country and all American citizens should be able to receive quality health care when it is needed. I am confident that if we all work together on how to achieve this goal we can make it happen.

You know Dash we agree on that. But I also think people need to have some responsibility for their own health. Big difference in my mind subsidizing the poor family who’s kids diagnosed with leukemia and the 300 lb. slob that drinks 12 🍺 a day while smoking three packs.

If we were a socialist country, I would qualify for a life insurance policy in spite of the fact that I am very high risk. That would be great if I could get an affordable life insurance policy so I could draw from the community pool for the big payout when I pass due to my bad heart condition. The Democrats should offer this up as a plank in their platform? Makes as much sense as the Affordable Care Act. Such logic would destroy the life insurance business!

I hear ya. You agree all citizens should be able to receive quality health care as long as you have the final say about who qualifies.

We are not a socialist country and you probably qualify for a life insurance policy if you can afford the premium. I have not heard of a single democrat or republican advocate for a social program that would pay out tax dollars to survivors of dead people. Social programs are directed toward helping living Americans.

Oh I see, premiums should differ based on risk category. Sounds like your an anti-socialism person. How can you support “healthcare for all” regardless of risk with a single premium covering everyone yet be against it on life insurance program for a single premium covering everyone.

Appears you’re a socialist when it comes to socialized medicine but not so when socialized life insurance. You claim tax dollars should only be spent for those who are alive, then what happens to my spouse who would be a “living American” and hence be a beneficiary of this socialist program.

Once socialism becomes the norm, it begins to creep into every aspect of the American way of life. If you want to see just how stupid socialism is, buy the “socialist monopoly game” that just came out by toy maker, Hasbro!

Socialism is the norm in America and is benefiting all Americans. Are you happy you can call the fire department when your house begins to burn, or call 911 when your wife gets hit by a car, or when you wave to your kid as he gets on the school bus to go to a public school? Socialism has already crept into every aspect of the American way of life. Most of us appreciate it and are willing to pay for these benefits.
The problem some of us have is that we are willing to pay when we directly benefit. It is when someone else is benefiting who might not be paying, that we start to question socialism. We want to choose who gets the benefit.

There are certain protections the government should pay for and others they need to stay away from. Give me your list. I have mine!

I didn’t say that and you know it. You’re just another lefty troll that can’t talk civilly. Dumber than a pet rock.

Get some education. That isn’t socialism. No wonder you argue. To stupid to learn.

In addition to beer drinkers, 3-pack a day smokers, and fat slobs, who else would you disqualify?

Where did I say disqualify stupid? You and every other liberal want to incentivize bad behavior. Kinda like when the big banks crashed the economy. No one went to jail on Wall Street. Instead the government bailed em out. So they’re back to their old tricks. Consider this debate over. You don’t get it.

America is certainly not 100% socialist. We lefties like to say we operate under a "democratic socialism." The means of production are managed by the working people, and there is a democratically elected government. Central planning distributes common goods, such as mass transit, housing and energy, while the free market is allowed to distribute consumer goods. We get into disagreement when we expand the idea of common goods to include public safety, defense, education, health care, and preservation of natural resources. Also, caring for the elderly, children and their caretakers. How far do we go with this idea of "common good" is what has all of us completely befuddled.

I consider this debate over. You are starting to sound too much like dopey Trump. When you get confused you resort to using terms like: "Dumber than a rock" and "To (should be too) stupid to learn." Trump does exactly the same thing. Good Luck.
