Ah, but he wasn't convicted, was he, therefore he didn't commit the crime he was charged with, right?
That entire thing was B.S.
Milosevic was into Bosnian sovereignty, and wouldn't be absorbed by the EU. Albanian Muslims were proliferating in Bosnia, trying to do the same thing there that Muslim "refugees" are today doing in EU countries -- a demographics-based invasion, and Milosevic was having none of it.
Germany wanted more influence in the Balkans. So... They had the
Bundesnachrichtendienst (BND, their external intelligence agency) whip up the whole ethnic cleansing scenario. Western countries, the media, everybody was "outraged," so with President William J. Clinton taking the lead, we invaded Bosnia.
I was in New York at the time, and I knew of several young Bosnian men who left and went "home" to fight for Milosevic.
So... After we all kicked his ass and took away his country, he sat in captivity for about 5 years, during which time the prosecution couldn't prove a thing.
But he
was on trial for, specifically, "War Crimes."
So... After 5 years of the allied powers being unable to produce any definitive evidence of the charges against him, he became a major embarrassment to the Clinton Administration and those of the other countries involved, to say nothing of the U.N. and the world media.
His medication was withheld, so he died in captivity. Cold blooded murder at the hands of Bubba Clinton, European leaders, the U.N....
Suddenly, nobody was talking about Bosnia anymore, especially an embarrassed media.
It seems whenever there's any kind of large, disruptive "episode" in Europe, Germany has something to do with it....
