Read the Declaration of Independence and you are reading the first document ever penned by progressives. Progressives such as Jefferson, Madison, Washington, Franklin, etc were in our government from the beginning. Even the only mention of God is progressive and inclusive of any religious, or not, belief. Would a Christian god allow for the worship of any god or no god at all? The progressives who wrote our constitution did.

And Borg collective? The Democrat Party is made up of all religious beliefs and non-beliefs. It is made up of intellectuals and union member working men and women. You can believe in Capitalism or Socialism or any mixture thereof and still call yourself a democrat. You can be a liberal, a moderate, or a conservative and still be a Democrat.

You Republican's though--you HAVE to be a conservative, preferably white, and the further to the right the better. You have to be religious, preferably Christian, and definitely NOT a Muslim. You have to be militaristic and anti-intellectual--Science is secondary to the plurality of the masses--the more who believe something the more it AFFIRMS what you believe to be true.

So who more closely fits being a member of the Borg? Why you conservatives of course. In fact, to you, the more one deviates from the principles of conservatism the greater your hostility towards them...Senator John McCain would be a prime example of someone purged from the conservative collective.
