Just out of curiosity, when in your mind, does a baby become a human being?

According to the mythology of the King James Bible, in Exodus 21, "If men strive, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart from her, and yet no mischief follow: he shall be surely punished, according as the woman's husband will lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine."

Under Old Testament law, the forceful termination of a pregnancy was considered a commercial loss and punishable as a property crime. Clearly, then, it was not considered a crime against the life of the conceptus, as it was not included under the "eye for eye, tooth for tooth formulation" regarding offenses against human life.

Why is it we call someone dead if their heart stops beating, but we don't concede they are alive when it does start beating ??????

We don't pronounce someone dead simply because their heart stops beating, we cardiovert them and send them a huge medical bill!

Roe vs. Wade is NOT the 'law of the land.' The Supreme Court cdoes not make law, the legislature and executive do.

Roe vs. Wade was a suspect decision written by Richard Nixon's third choice for a Supreme Court seat, Harry Blackmun. I suggest you read it. It has no logical flow.

As usual, you distort history. It's about par for a liberal.

Amen. I never heard of the cowardly Congress passing a law allowing the termination of anyone's pregnancy. It was as indicated an opinion of the Supreme Court in response to a lawsuit regarding the individual right to terminate a pregnancy (also spelled' m-u-r-d-e-r'. Therefore the ruling is subject to overturning by the current supreme court and if Congress doesn't like it, tough. Also states still have the right to pass laws that counter the supreme court. It might end up back at the supreme court but in the meantime, state law is in effect.

For what it is worth. Take a little course in biology and find out what causes kids and refrain from that conduct as opposed to killing the result of your screwing around.

Yeah, wait until we get one more Constitutionalist (originalist) much like Gorsuch and Kavanaugh and we'll see what happens to this "law of the land". They make it sound like it is written "in stone' forever. Watch carefully. Probably the reason, Booker, Feinstein and others made such asses out of themselves during the Kav hearings.

Seriously? Congress passed the law, SCOTUS upheld it as law. Pretty simple. If you have served in the military defending the Constitution since 1776, you still have one vote and one opinion. Trying to make what you say or think grander by always repeating your years of service is getting tired. Thank you for your great service, but enough. Just speak like a citizen.

You are the one that called out being a Patriot. I was only defending my position. In my post I asked one simple question. I ask that question again. Where in the Constitution does it state, that when the Supreme Court makes a decision on a specific case does it become the Law of the Land ?

Sarge!! Of course you are right on. Let an old Submarine sailor offer a bit of advice. The sooner you start ignoring certain posters on OPP the happier you will be. For the most part they offer nothing but childish rhetoric they have read or heard down at the gin mill. There isn't an iota of decorum, good manners or taste in the lot of them. If someone out there thinks I might be referring to you, I probably am. I have never in my life been subjected to so low-life crap from supposedly grown people. I am only sorry that the Ignore list doesn't prevent it's inhabitants garbage getting onto the screen which I see.

BTW, Sarge, my dad did 22 years, 8 months and 13 days in the Army and a brother of my mom had to do the Bataan Death March followed by 3 years in a Japanese copper mine. He survived and actually lived to retire from the Army as well. Domestic issues caused me to leave after 15 years in the Navy.
My dad's nickname was "Sarge" too.

You need to shut your mouth! You are a chicken 💩 & need to move out of this country to Venezuela & see how you like living the life you want for America. Do you know what the word respect means? This country is not for you if you have no respect for the veterans who spill their blood for the likes of you! SHAME, SHAME, SHAME on you & your ilk!

This is an attack on Roe v. Wade. Enlighten me where in the Constitution the Supreme Court gives a ruling on a case, it becomes the Law of the Land. The court is ruling on that case, just as all other courts. Under the Constitution Laws are passed by Congress. Under the Constitution, please enlighten me how the Supreme Court has the authority to make Law for Land. Please explain, how a person convicted of killing a pregnant woman can be charged and convicted of a double homicide but killing an unborn or born baby is not murder. I consider myself a patriot. I served thirty-eight years in the military defending the constitution. I also serve my Bible which is a bedrock of that constitution. Murder is murder. And these are innocent murders. How anyone can condone this barbaric genocide, I can not understand.

Unfortunately, this is just another in a long list of unconstitutional attack on Roe v. Wade, which is law of the land. I am not saying that it was a futile attempt because it helps raise awareness about the abortion issue, which is good and needs greater discussion. Yet defending the law of the land, no matter how seemingly bad that law is, is what a patriot does: protects the Constitution.

The Constitution protects life liberty and the pursuit of happiness... not the destruction of it... Abortion is not a constitutional right... research the founder of the euphimistically labeled "planned parenthood " law of the land and abortion on demand be damned...
