Actually that is not true. The Catholic church added the Apocrypha in response to the reformation - they were never in the bible beforehand - and that includes the one used by the Catholic church.
The Apocryphal books were not included in the bible because they were not divinely inspired.
Do your research, rose42,

Here are the facts:
Why did Martin Luther take 7 books out of the Bible>

Answer by Rev. Mark J. Gantley, JCL on 5/1/2005:
The canon of Scripture is the list of 73 books that belong to the Bible. (The word "Bible" means "the Book.") The earliest writings of the Bible were likely composed in the 10th century B.C. The writing of Scripture continued until the first century A.D., when Revelation was complete.
Seven books of the Bible, all in the Old Testament, are accepted by Roman Catholics and Eastern Orthodox, but are not accepted by Jews or Protestants. These include 1 and 2 Maccabees, Judith, Tobit, Baruch, Sirach, and Wisdom, and additions to the books of Esther and Daniel. These books are called Deuterocanonical by Catholics and Orthodox and
Apocryphal by Jews and Protestants. These were the last books of the Old Testament written, composed in the last two centuries B.C.
Their omission in Protestant Bibles leaves a chronological gap in salvation history.

Thank you Doc...
I will put some serious thought into purchasing a Catholic Bible...Perhaps the New Jerusalem Version...
I find that the various differences between translations can be most enlightening...
May I ask what is so controversial about the Deuterocanonical that Jews and Protestants don't accept them?
Are there traditions or rules in them that affect all of Christianity?
I must admit I find the topic intriguing...
Thanks for your time....
Some of the Catholic versions were not canonized just like the books of the apocrypha therefore weren't inspired by GOD.
Any religion that changes (ie the Methodist is something that I personally would have my doubts about. Man changes GOD does NOT. Lots of prayer and studying is something I would encourage.

Isn't it? All one has to do is lookup how they came up with 66 books for the Bible. That happened BEFORE the reformation.

Hi Rose...
I have been doing a little research and it appears that the Deuterocanonical were included in the Bible far before the Reformation...
There inclusion in the Orthodox churches seems to support this as well...
I would like to be thorough though...
Could you send me a link supporting your claim that they were added in the 1600's...
It's a fascinating subject...

There are many sites that explain why the 66 books were chosen. This is but one -
https://answersingenesis.org/the-word-of-god/why-66-books/If you look on Catholic sites they will say it was finalized at the council of Trent which was when they added the Apocrypha - AFTER the reformation. But realize the Catholic church only has authority over Catholics.
The Apocrypha was not included before the Council of Trent because it was not divinely inspired.
You have to go back in history and see the Catholic church really started in the 300s. Its history before then is built on forged documents.
This link has information and has numerous resources to back that up -
http://www.bereanpublishers.com/forged-documents-and-papal-power/Now before the usual suspects say I'm using hate speech against the Catholic church, I am not. This is history. I will also repeat something I've said numerous times - only God knows someone's heart. Not a pastor, a priest or anyone else. Only he determines if we will join him in eternity.

You are very deceptive Rose42. You presented a link created by another man-made Sola Scriptura, a Protestant Evangelical Pastor named Brian Edwards. The gospel he promotes supports yours which are both wrong, but denies the facts of history for his own purpose.
Here is Brain Edward's Ministry and life. These along with your fake man-made Sola Scriptura has been the sources of lucrative money making machines of the Luther followers.
Every one of the Luther pastors has only one common objective. Spreading a false Gospel, to the people, and using a seed money to luring/deceiving millions of people, to making hundreds of millions of dollars or even billions of dollars for a brief period of time. Brian Edwards has similar objective.

They create their own gospel, thus tens of thousands of interpretations of their Sola Scriptura.
I never trust what I call an electric preacher. Plus I never take a preacher' word for it totally but try to check it out for myself. There used to be a preacher at church that encouraged us to check for ourselves because if he was wrong he'd be in hell right beside us.
