Ridiculous!...The Jews of Europe and the caravaners are not on the same level at all.

In my opinion it is a parent's (especially a father's) duty to protect their children...
This man made a choice that I personally could never condone...
Perhaps there were circumstances that forced his hand and led him to endanger his child in such a reckless manner , but at the moment I have found no information to support that hypothesis...
It seems like the border patrol did everything in their power to help this child. Including using a helicopter. It is often difficult to determine the condition of children , especially if their guardian is being less than forthcoming (have no information as to what the father told the border agents at the time)...
I believe they should be commended for their actions and would like to include them in my above mentioned prayer... We often forget how difficult these situations can be for those who have chosen to put themselves on the frontlines...
God bless these border agents. We thank them for their dedication and diligence. May they continue to serve us with honor. Amen

My understanding is that he initially signed a form that indicated that his daughter had "no health issues." The form was printed in English, but was interpreted for him. This is totally the fault of the Father. If he had been truthful and had indicated that his child was in distress, perhaps she would have been given aid sooner. A small child who has not been given water or food for "several days" is just beyond what is comprehendible. I certainly hope that the Father of this child is sent back to where ever he was from--we already have enough stupid people among our own citizens.
So, you want to compare the Holocaust to Central America? What is with you liberals that everything you do not like you go to the whipping boy, the Germans, to try to make a point?
Men, women, and children fleeing Germany did not invade any other country when they escaped. The Jew was being rounded up daily and taken to certain death. The Central Americans.... well, they can go back to their homes and if they are so afraid, why are they demanding that the US pay each of them $50,000 dollars to do just that? And they do not appear to be starving.... The Germans took the property of the Jew, they had no home to return to. So, yes the Jew had bought tickets and had passports when they pulled into harbor and the US would not allow them to get off the boat. So... did they camp out, march, and destroy? No, the ship turned around and those men, women, and children died in concentration camps. Jews are different, our children are our future.... they are put 2nd (first G*d) then children in our lives. Men in camps would starve while giving their ration to a woman or child...... but these illegals, well the man who claimed to be Jakelin's father did not even make sure she drank water or ate.... he even assured border patrol in writing that she was healthy and not in need of medical care. See a difference?
So.... as polite as I can manage.... find another scape-goad.... if I, who had family die in camps, can forgive even Hitler, why can't you?

Six hours without "proper care"... Can we define "proper care"?

Comrade Nikki,
Where’s your source or link to prove your statement about Border Patrol? I watch several programs about the border and have seen many instances where they give illegal invaders water or blankets. Try Natgeo channel.
I’m surprised you’re not bitching about how they are ruining the environment leaving plastic bottles in the desert.
Unfortunately the child paid the ultimate price for the actions of an ignorant adult. Put the blame where it belongs and hope the message gets out to the other invaders. Save the children!

Take it from someone who lives by the border (4 miles) and deals with CBP on an almost weekle basis. They do NOT sabotage water stations of any degree. They try to see they are kept protected. It is the coyotes who drain the water or damage more significant watering stations. This is to ensure the illegals cannot make it across on their own. Many ranchers use to set up water stations which anyone could use. They were repeatedly destroyed by coyotes. It is the same people calling loudest for the wall who have been trying to prevent illegals from dying in the desert. No rancher wants to come across bodies, especially of women and children on their land or off. The liberals and progressive protest the supposed inhumanity while the conservatives drill wells or buy and set up water tanks to save lives!!!!
How do you know that no one offered her food and water. Plenty were being distributed. If she did not receive any, it was because the adult did not take even minimal care of the child at was at the least criminally negligent, or was purposefully withholding it. It certainly works in the favor of the anti enforcement agenda to have a child die while under CBP authority.

But a desperate man would. It just breaks my heart. I would keep care of her I think of my own daughters and think what if that was us and how awful that a man could become so desperate he would risk death for himself and his little girl crossing that dessert where so many have died attempting it
A desperate caring parent would do all they could to see to the welfare of their child!!!!!!!! Food and water were being distributed all along the caravan, and at each resting point. There is NO reason he could not have seen the child got food and water!

Water is supplied by the CBP while being detained. Everyone, including children, is given a bottle of water. What do you think all those thousands of crates of bottled water is for? The water was available. What prevented her from drinking some?

Lets see. Gas chambers or at best slave labor for their child vs fleeing under difficult and dangerous circumstances. Compared this to the choices of having a job which is not high enough income for your liking but high enough to be well fed and decently clothed with good shoes vs crossing a desert with your child with inadequate supplies. Does that sound like the same situation to you?
Can we not dishonor holocaust survivors with these hollow comparisons...

Thank you for your opinion doctor. The heading of this thread said that heat was partially to blame for this child's death but hasn't it been unseasonably cold this week on our southern border? Just wondering.

Jackeline Caal had traveled, mostly on foot, a thousand miles or so from Guatemala to the US border. She was exposed to 100F temps and rainy weather. Who knows what she ate along the way? If the girl was suffering from just dehydration, 6 hours may or may not be enough time to treat her. But, is that the case? She was in bad shape when the BP picked her up, dehydrated, exhausted, eight hours after being taken in, she began having seizures--not a common reaction to just dehydration. Her fever grew to 105.7. According to reports, including interviews with her father, she hadn't been given food or water for several days prior to being taken in by the BP. Why is that? Is that president Trump's fault?
Mexican medical professionals are reporting a high number of cases (60%) of respiratory infections among the migrants, they are spitting, sneezing, coughing and vomiting, many are infected with lice and are suffering various insect bites, cases of Tuberculosis and HIV are showing up.
Is it our fault that her father took her on a thousand mile trek across Mexico, exposing her to all kinds of hazards, including unsanitary conditions and human wastes? When US border authorities realized her condition was life threatening, they choppered her to a hospital. They did try to save her life.
Every black hearted leftist hypocrite who tries to put this girl's death on president Trump's shoulders and by association all of us who support him can Kilo Mike Alpha.

There will be an autopsy and investigation, which justice requires.
At this point; anyone who has already formed an opinion as to responsibility, is unfit to judge the matter.
If a mother or father leaves a baby in a hot car and the baby dies, do we need an investigation to determine the cause of death? So how can anybody who says the father caused the little girls death be unfit to say so? You yourself are prejudging people you don't know, so you must be unfit also. There is always an investigation for official records, but the cause of death here is obvious.
