The selection of words, their need to argue a point until their opponent gives up. They crave pity, but they do not want anyone to say it out loud, they want an apology, but have no idea of how to accept one, they simply want revenge but do not know how to exact a justified action, so they complain how awful the white man is/was/and ever shall be, they go into graphic detail of the sins and wrongs that another committed, and then the put the cherry on top by saying "you don't understand." god forbid that someone bring up any bad decisions of your tribe, or race, because then that person has to be a racist. Never mind that you have just gone on and on of how awful white men are. That is not racist.

So, I say to you that I was wrong in trying to befriend or encourage you. You are a hostile person and your intent is not discussion but to vent your hatred. I will not be a party to feeding your anger. Good Luck!
Oh but I understand, you are a forgiving kind gent... (show quote)

You are one articulate individual, that gets it (reality). then elects to share it with those that do not get it. Sensai, teacher, factual poster. Damn, I like you man.

Mike, life is about choices. if you make good and honorable choices, Karma smiles on you and you will receive proper benefit of those choices. If you make bad choices, you will also receive a proper benefit: )
(Remember....Karma is a Bitch and always meters out a proper benefit for your choices. Karma does not accept excuses or rationalizations; Karma is capable of delivering getting your attention.

Kind of you to say so. A little affirmation from time to time does wonders! I understand where my friend is coming from. Everyone has reasons, real reasons to hate. I don't deny that or seek to trivialize that. But when a person allows themselves to become limited by those reasons they turn into excuses, and for me that finally became intolerable and I changed.

Alright. If you don't have the ability to explain yourself, in that area, maybe its just too noisy inside. Venturing inside can be scary, I guess. I suppose it depends, a bit, on what one thinks they've been exposed to.

Obviously you never took Psychology 101. Obviously you have never heard of behaviour modification, especially in regard to parenting.

Looking into myself was the scariest fucking thing I have ever done! Scarier than getting married (which turned out to be pretty nice)! Scarier than spiders! When I finally - thank God - realized that I was stuck in place because I believed my own bullshit and made the decision to quit accepting my own excuses, my life changed for the better.

I took that trip into my thinking when I was a youngster. I have had to repeat it several times. It does not get easier, but you are better for it.

All I can say, is good for you!

Your answers were in the last post. I don't have to explain any thing. you are very close. I put this post up to get others takes on what I saw. in writeing. So far 95% of all replys have been from people who identify with the right wing side of politics. This possibly could be a statisics thing if the right formula was used.I am an independant left leaning voter if you don't know already. I won't change that position and make no apologies for it I don't care how the other person votes. I do care that they are allowed to vote and that vote is counted. Sorry for going a little off subject.

One thing about the 12 Steps is that I have a vehicle to do that with. I'm very fortunate to be an addict  !

In regards to ones personal growing experience changes come from within. Good parenting creates a happy confident child. easy but some folks find it hard.

You must have been there years ago My cousins husband Eugene Welch was the Carpentry instructer at Kingsley field. There is much hatred of Indians there and much has to do with Water. Dick Miller who owned the Caddilac dealership kept a couple bottles of whiskey in his desk. When the Klamaths cashed thier checks and came in to buy a car he put the bottle in front of them. When the bureau of reclamation cut off the irrigation water during a bad drought Whites blamed Indians for it and truck loads of holligans drove up to Chiloquin and shot at people their homes and pets yelling "Sucker Lovers" "Gut eaters". You may have been there but I lived there.

Wow, I had no idea it was ever that bad. I have many modoc Indian friends and a few Klamath, they sort of adopted me some 15 odd years ago into the tribe. Can't say I even look Indian even with long hair that is long gone. But I learned to appreciate the culture with pow wows and drums. A little pipe stone pipe always helped. FOM, I feel bad about your experience. I grew up in NorCal and I use to pick fruit as a kid and I can tell you that I witnessed my mom being treated badly because she is Greek and stupid whitey can not tell the difference between you and her or any Mexican woman.
I still can not agree with your assessment of the blacks though, nobody has oppressed them in 50 years. Their ilk is of their own making at this time.
