perhaps you are right abut some Black people. They really are not much of a minority any more. Glad to know you have Klamath friends. Aileen weeks is my step mother. I am also related to the Herraras. I have relatives that are Coos tribal members. myself I am Colville.

Wow, I had no idea it was ever that bad. I have many modoc Indian friends and a few Klamath, they sort of adopted me some 15 odd years ago into the tribe. Can't say I even look Indian even with long hair that is long gone. But I learned to appreciate the culture with pow wows and drums. A little pipe stone pipe always helped. FOM, I feel bad about your experience. I grew up in NorCal and I use to pick fruit as a kid and I can tell you that I witnessed my mom being treated badly because she is Greek and stupid whitey can not tell the difference between you and her or any Mexican woman.
I still can not agree with your assessment of the b****s though, nobody has oppressed them in 50 years. Their ilk is of their own making at this time.
Your answers were in the last post. I don't have to explain any thing. you are very close. I put this post up to get others takes on what I saw. in writeing. So far 95% of all replys have been from people who identify with the right wing side of politics. This possibly could be a statisics thing if the right formula was used.I am an independant left leaning v**er if you don't know already. I won't change that position and make no apologies for it I don't care how the other person v**es. I do care that they are allowed to v**e and that v**e is counted. Sorry for going a little off subject.[/quot

Fom, I know my answers were in the last post. I put them there. And, of course you don't have to explain. I wasn't "demanding" an explanation. I was, though, looking for clarification. In this post, you say you started this thread "to get others takes on what (you) saw" but if the description or interpretation of what you saw (or thought you saw) is still in question...is it really "their" take you're getting? But, hey. That whole Sowell thing did seem to be hurtful to you; and I thought I should try to get it right. I am sorry if you feel I pressed you too hard.

However you feel is up to you. This post has brought out a great deal of emotion in some people. I can see a lot of people are hurt by the skin game. well it is a bummer so don't play it. You said you would not so don't. The skin game is played in many forms. politics for instance. Us an the others. Stupid isn't it?

Do you have any idea at all about the writer you are questioning? Did you do anything but read one or two articles?

Thomas Sowell, born in NC and raised in Harlem. Served in the Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. Has a Bachelors from Harvard, a Masters from Columbia University and a PhD in Economics from the University of Chicago. He is currently a Senior Fellow at the Hoover Institute at Stanford University and a recipent of the National Humanities Medal. You really think this man needs Townhall to publish his statements? You really believe Townhall can dictate to this man what to write? I did not count the number of published books he has. Some research may have helped before you stepped in this steaming pile of dung.

No problems here. The Sowell thing is an example of he and other Black writers chastising B****s for one thing or another and Non B****s eating it up and thinking it is ok to chastise B****s. It is like B****s call each other N****r so why can't I? any way it just bugged me. I did not get super upset by it.. I have found with this posting a great many of the People were offended and worried about their own inner feelings on the subject of Race. I call it the skin game. I found some players and they were the most upset. The skin game is a bummer in all of its forms. I don't think any body should play it. God loves us all so much that we should return that love by loving each other. Some people find that hard to do. I have no problem loving my fellow Humans.Politics has divided this country quite badly and it is still another form of the skin game. I am an individual and all others are individuals also and we should be individuals without malice toward those who may feel differently than ourselves. Here on OPP I am finded deep hatreds people on the right harbor against those on the left. It is a tragedy.I see so many calling the President bad names and h**eing anyone who supports the President of the United States. That is insane. Well thats all for now. You are one of the best posters on this subject so far and I thank you.

Your answers were in the last post. I don't have to explain any thing. you are very close. Looking into myself was the scariest fucking thing I have ever done! Scarier than getting married (which turned out to be pretty nice)! Scarier than spiders! When I finally - thank God - realized that I was stuck in place because I believed my own bulls**t and made the decision to quit accepting my own excuses, my life changed for the better.

For a while, I felt uneasy and thought it might be from fear of looking inside myself. But when I found out I was just looking in the opposite direction, I was able to recognize myself and ease-out. Spiders, huh? The Empire State Building.

When you say, "chastise", I can't help picturing someone with one hand on the hip...wagging their finger at somebody. Yeah...no doubt there are some Non-B****s who might want to take Sowell's lead on that; but White or not...there's a whole lot of people who don't like Obama, for reasons that have nothing to do with the color of his skin. Some, in fact, say that the color of his skin is the only good thing about him. There's people of every variety who maintain that they are slighted or disagreed with because of their g****r or race or sex attractions or wh**ever; but maybe the person's just a nucklehead. There definitely is not much common ground between the two main Parties and some actual hatred from both sides. I do think, though, that most of this is directed at the political "leaders", who are thought to be, not without reason, confidence men. But, in the end, con men or no, it appears we all roll our own.

Koondy and Fom, I will admit that at times though I was raised in a house of color, I am terribly mad at all races on any given day, do does that make me a r****t? I have stated my feelings for Obama in the past and don't care that he is black, he is incompetent. Bush was the worst president we had ever had in my lifetime until Obama. Just my feelings and opinion. Thomas Sowell is a brilliant man who has no fear calling a spade a spade, no pun intended. Black America would be far better off if they read his work and ponder the view if only for discussion. If he preaches it enough maybe he can bring about some real Change!

B****s don't need any thing more than a non prejudiced society around them to thrive and have happy lives. That is true of all races. . Prejudice causes social ills. The way it is.
