NYC, the place to avoid. First, giving the police the right to stop and frisk any citizen without any cause except boredom. Now this.

in 1945, the anti-N**i German Lutheran Pastor wrote: "first they came for the C*******ts, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a C*******t. Then they came for the trade unionists, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a trade unionist. Then they came for the Jews, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Jew. Then they came for the Catholics, and I didn't speak up because I was a Protestant. Then they came for me, and by that time there was no one left to speak up for me."
It's time for Republican mayor Bloomberg to stop thinking he's a N**i, and start realizing he lives in the United States. If we give up all our freedoms in fear, than the terrorists have won.

ter·ror·ism (tr-rzm)
n.
The unlawful use or threatened use of force or violence by a person or an organized group against people or property with the intention of intimidating or coercing societies or governments, often for ideological or political reasons.

oh cut the bulls**t , if it's unconstitutional it will be stopped . What they should do is not arrest anyone caught with pot , because the whole purpose of the stop and frisk is to eliminate handguns .Which has been the law in NYC for the past 55 years . In the meantime if you visit NYC , you'll be more safe than in most hometowns and major cities . Don't like it ? DON'T GO THERE . They won't miss you .

I think they should be free to believe what they want as long as they don't try to force their beliefs on everyone else.

Read a history book, would be my suggestion.

I agree with you. These groups hold no power over me or my actions or beliefs. They take none of my freedoms away, and they harm me in no way. Why should I try to destroy them or get rid of them?

I suggest YOU READ A HISTORY BOOK ,keeping in mind that this is the 21st Century , and those aforementioned religions with the exception of Islam live in this century .
Aside from the freakazoids found in any tribe , religion , or atheist groups how many of them are chopping people heads off and blowing up airliners ?
Your argument has long been played out and worn out . Not to mention irrelevant to THE PRESENT .

I realize history repeats itself, and I know that many groups have a history of vile acts. However, what are you seeing within these groups that leads you to think they are now a danger? I do not intend to be snide. I'd truly like to know.

Think about it. My point is that our freedoms are slowly being taken away out of fear. We are letting the terrorists win.
If we let the police stop and frisk anyone walking down the street, where does that stop?
If we target all Muslims, what religion does that stop with?
Through the "Patriot" Act, we have given up all our freedoms to the NSA. Did you know that under that Act, they can declare you (yes, you) a terrorist, arrest you, imprison you, keep you from contacting anyone, your family, friends, and hold you without trial or charges as long as they want. No proof required.
Think about it. Don't just close your eyes and say, "Not me", because, legally, it could be you.

I understand and agree with all that. What I was asking is "what is dangerous about the groups of people you named?"

Maybe you and I have a disconnect and are talking past each other.

Don't worry if they are good for America the ACLU will come i n and take care of them. I know that because of the way they are dealing with everything Christian. The other part of the spectrum is the fact that we had to understand and allow free speech etc. for the c*******ts and we let our guard down to the point of having a mess in Washington, and a lot of socialist c*******t personnel in high places.

[quote=MPLSMAN]ThIf we target all Muslims, what religion does that stop with?

Islam is not a religion. It is an evil, murderous, brutal, and dictatorial form if governmeny masquerading as a religion. It is a form of government that dictates what a citizen may say, wear, eat, think, drink, and the Islamic government controls every moment of their lives. Women can be stoned ti death for no reason. and men and even children can have hands of feet cut off for breaking a silly rule.
And they are working to force their evil form of government on the rest pf the world.

Sure, now its the Muslim, but in earlier days it was the Jew, Catholic, Italian, and any number of other "strangers" that were on The List. As long as any American citizen is singled out for such treatment, none of us are safe, and if we say nothing, no one will be there to speak for us.

And when, pray tell, did any Catholic, Italian or Jew carry out Jihad? When did any Catholic, Italian or Jew don a suicide vest and blow up innocent people?
Your reasoning is very obtuse.
