But that not true Costco is a bulk supplier of goods that if you buy in bulk you save a lot more than your membership cost. Go to Costco and watch business owners with carts full of products. The Walmart myth is crazy. They have goods that actually cost more than your local super market.

But when it comes to the TPer's they still think George Bush did not create the Great Recession of 2008. So how what you expect them to check prices.

I'll give you yet another opportunity - explain how Bush created the '08 recession - what exactly did he do or not do - He was anything but a conservative -

I was going to ask the same question. But, don't expect any factual answers.

We've done this before and each time the vacuousness of his position is either hidden by no response or displayed by dumb ones.

I think that is a wonderful idea. It would put all of these companies out of business, wouldn't it?

Costco's market is the economic upscale folks - Wal-Mart's market focus is the working and non-working dependent poor.

I am unaware that Wal-mart gets any subsidies not available to any and all retailers, if you have any evidence to the contrary I've never seen it.

I guess if you aren't poor it feels good to look down your nose at those who are - at those who need a low cost merchant like Wal-Mart.

dave ,they think that subtracting the cost of doing business is a subsidie.maybe the govt should do away with their deductions then we could hear them cry.and they should pay taxes on all this stuff the govt gives them, money rent subsidies food stamps and help with utilities, then they would change their tune.

Blah, Blah, Blah.
I have written plenty of checks to the insurance company. It is not expensive, it is certainly less expensive than defending the business against a suit and trying to develop a case that proves that there was no neglect or danger.

Back on point. The point being that Consumers Reports cannot be trusted to provide you information that is even close to accurate because they allow their personal bias and politics to interfere with it.

Gosh. I did not intend to get a thread about politics started on this topic... I was just writing a quality report about Consumers Reports as they promote themselves as doing quality reports about everyone else.

I am still trying to figure out why employees at Walmart would want to eat food stamps as tdsrnest said.

I think they call that a paradox..... which brings up this little photo written by a Yankee college student.

I stopped subscribing fifty years ago. They were fine in their ratings of small appliances and household white-goods, stuff that could be replaced without breaking the bank. When it came to major expenditures they wouldn't say you know what, if they had a mouthful. I bought a 1965 Oldsmobile after checking Consumer Reports for that model and noted that the brakes might fade in panic stops. Two months later the car was totaled, in a no collision crash during a rainstorm on the PA Turnpike. My wife was driving her mother home and someone cut her off on a bridge. She slammed on the brakes and the car went totally out of control, spinning end for end while bouncing off the center divider and the bridge rail. She came to a stop with the back half of the car over the rail, balancing seventy feet in the air. Rescuers had to hold down the front of the car so they could get out. Concumers Reports

Sorry. You were only partially correct. the "ass" was right on, but the "smart" was a misnomer... Might I suggest the more accurate descriptive title of "Dumb-Ass"?

Dumb is the first requirement for being a sodomite then ass follows.
