Received a flyer trying to get me to subscribe to CONSUMER REPORTS... The flyer was page after page of all the good stuff they say they do. Then one statement hit me square in the face.

Quote:

"BEWARE OF A STORE less likely to satisfy you. Actual headline

If you need a coffeemaker, vacuum, or other small appliance, think twice about buying it at Walmart. In our exclusive survey, we compared price, se******n, service and checkout ease of fifteen major retailers. Overall, people were less satisfied at Walmart compared to most other retailers..... A top-scoring walk-in chain. Costco"

REBUTTAL

1. You have to pay a membership fee to purchase through Costco.
2. Sam's club is more similar and in a more competing position with Costco. (both club sales) than Walmart where you do not have to buy a membership to shop -- Walmart is more a competitive position with Target, not Cosco.
3. It has been my experience that Sam's club, Costco and WallMart are all slow in their checkout.
4. WalMart has much more depth of product than either Sam's or Costco.
5. There are a whole bunch more Walmart locations than Costco or Sams. In many cities (especially small towns) you will never find a Costco or a Sams... But you will find a Walmart.

Most importantly (and if you have been paying attention, you know) liberals support Costco and h**e Walmart. They have tried over and over to unionize Walmart. They love the liberal positions of the owner of Costco.

So... Who can you trust to get the t***h, nothing but the t***h and unbiased reporting?..... NOT CONSUMER REPORTS.

Liberals may say they h**e Walmart; however, the Walton Family Foundation contributes quite a bit of money to Democratc issues, as does Costco, Target, Home Depot, StarBucks, etc., etc., etc.

It is very confusing why Democrats h**e the Citizens United Decision, considering their corporate donor list.

Ask the employers at Costco how much they get paid then ask the employees at Walmart how many need food stamps to eat. Walmart not only gets major corporate subsidies they also import 90% of there GD products from China. I would not spend 10 in any Walmart store.

I subscribed to CU for over 30 years and also online when they came out with that version. When they started pushing Obamacare I cancelled everything,it wasn't a CU report,it was promoting Obamacare. When I cancelled they asked me why and when I told them they didn't deny it.When a business with their mission promotes anything they can never be trusted again to give an unbiased report on anything.too bad I enjoyed the mag.that turned into a rag but that's what happens with everything that has anything to do with Obama.

Thank you tdsrnest. I could have hardly expected a post which clearly reinforces the points I was making.

That must have been hard for you.

Good job.

Using Hemiman's criteria you just confirmed tdsrnest's contentions. Good reason for that, of course, it is true.
I almost went to shop at Walmart a week or so ago to reward them for the tiny wage increase they are giving their entry level employees. I then read this.

http://billmoyers.com/2015/03/31/walmart-lowes-safeway-nordstrom-bankrolling-nationwide-campaign-gut-workers-comp/
That was the end of any plan to go to Walmart in the near future.
Why does a profitable corporation want to hurt their workers that way? Only one reason...to put them on Social Security Disability rather than compensating them for injuries on the job and money, money, money.

If this is true it will certainly change the way I feel about Wallmart but I would never take Bill Moyers word for anything. Its very hard for me to believe Wallmart could be so callous towards their employees.

Are you kidding me? And it isn't just Walmart...it is many money grubbing BoDs that value an extra 10 cents per share to the detriment of employees.

Well yes, it is our business. As God fearing Americans the status of our fellow residents in this great land is morally important.
Monetarily it counts as well, a person earning minimum wage qualifies for every federal benefit offered. Do you know how much that costs the taxpayer rather than the employer?

Do you honestly think it makes sense for you and I to pay for food for retail workers to be able to eat and feed their children, to go to the doctor...when these companies are making billions?
Really?
You may remember this one.

I've said it numerous times...If you want to EARN $xx per hour, make your labor WORTH $xx per hour.
