Rock, you KNOW there is a devil and antichrist? Don't talk about women that way!!

Actually, that is one I would differ with you on, although I'm sure there are and have been many who would have and tried to volunteer for such a role, simply because of their having read the scriptures and are inherently evil. But a real one, I'm not buying that one, not that it matters. If one appeared, I'd resist.

You'll not get me to tread on that sticky flypaper my friend, I can and do incite the opposing g****r just fine all by my lonesome.

I'm indeed relieved you would resist such a being nwt, I'm rather looking forward to having a brew with you in the world to come, so we can finish our discussion on religion once we have all the answers at our disposal.

I don't see God or Satan as BIG GUYS wearing white and red like college football team players. I believe them to be spirit and, just like the wind, I have never seen either thing.

I'm going to sum it up for you using a verse of scripture. I know you don't hold those t***hs to be self-evident but, I just can't frame it any better so please bear with me?

When I was a child, I used to speak like a child, think like a child, reason like a child; when I became a man, I did away with childish things. For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face; now I know in part, but then I will know fully just as I also have been fully known. But now faith, hope, love, abide these three; but the greatest of these is love.

~ 1 Corinthians 13:11-13

We can't know everything right now but, we are wired to love and, it's the greatest thing we can ever do in this world!

Amen?

I'm sorry, but you keep making the argument that because you don't understand something complex, by default, that must mean God made it.

That's just a ridiculously stupid argument.

I'm not making the argument that God didn't create it, but I certainly understand that just because we haven't come to understand something, it doesn't follow that God had a hand in it.

For myself I believe there is a greater power out there, or at least hope there is, which created all that we know and beyond. Yet I have a hard time in belief of organized religion, for all of them are at odds with each other and within there own sect. The Bible, for example has many versions, each t***slated by man, changes some what, with each interpretation.

As for evolution, it is a theory, not yet proven. Though there is many parts of it that do hold true, as Natural Se******n, but not to the point
of beginning of life.

The beginning of life on this earth, could have come from many a source, for the galaxy is vast, with numerous universes well beyond ours. Life must exist out there. Where did it start, and how?

So I do believe in a greater being, God if you wish. Each is entitled to there interpretation to guide them.

Okay, we have the appearance of a unique single experience we lovingly refer to as birth and death. Can't recall my first birthday and, death hasn't got me to go as of yet. I suppose I was really saying we don't come or go with any other humans, is that better?

I do not suggest I know what is best for you, I was answering the question you posed about other teachers and prophets and why I would or wouldn't accept what they had to say.

If you want to argue things with the main office, feel free. I'm taking the path of least resistance if it's all the same to you!

Now my understanding is that Jesus IS God and, we are not all walking equals with God are we? Be careful about the philosophy of “All for one and one for all”, it might be just super if you're one of the The Three Musketeers, it might not work so hot with the Almighty.

I KNOW there is a Satan and a spirit of antichrist, it's not my "feel good" belief, it is a conclusion drawn from careful study. I do not appreciate condescending or supercilious assumptions attributed to me. Just FYI and maybe a cautionary note.

You like to fly by the seat of your bloomers, I get it! As my Godfather Vito once told me,

“Woman and children can afford to be careless, men can not"

And a three, two, one... (cue the angry woman!).

Okay, we have the appearance of a unique single ex... (show quote)

I am not speaking to you condescendingly, I'm merely giving you my perspective, I am not the one stating this is how it is. It is only my thoughts on the topic.

Are we not walking equals to God? We all start out being born and we begin making our own choices, and he watches.

If a father were to warn his son to choose wisely, and the son does not and ends up getting and his hand gets cut off, and he looks up at his father and his father says you did not choose wisely.
Do you think the father loves the son any less?

Sick and evil people are lost souls, they are people so lost in their mind, heart, and all the way to their soul. You think God loves them any less, or maybe he pity's them for bringing on their own form of hell and suffering and may hope they seek forgiveness if they are ever have the mindfulness to do so.

Yes there is, there's lots of evidence and more keeps piling up every day. What there's no evidence for is the creation of life by some magical deity. Do some reading, keep up with scientific and technological advances, your knowledge is 19th Century.

Oh chit oh dear, what if all the reading one does comes from those who think the opposite of what you think?

The thing that bothers me most about this evolution - creation argument is that it is only an argument. Those of us who believe in God may be totally right about him creating the whole thing but evolution may well have caused some changes in humans as it has with animals. I think that all of us on both sides of this argument would be smarter to consider that we do cause changes in the animal world through selective breeding but won't allow that kind of thing with humans. Don't we all believe that if we allowed closer familial breeding than we do we would weaken the human animal? I don't know, maybe I am wrong, but I don't think so.

Evaluate the merits of the claims and counterclaims, decide which is more likely valid. If the conclusion of facts supports your beliefs fine. If it not, consider changing your beliefs to make them consistent with what you know. Expect religiuos dissent. It is present throughout history, way before Copernicus and Galileo.

I have already done that and I do know through science that when humans inbreed too much the results aren't acceptable and at the same time we don't worry about the animal world that has them working from what works to keep them alive but never from what they know since they don't have brains like ours.

With animals, when breeding selectively, unacceptable specimens are regularly euthanized, sometimes entire litters. That is unacceptable with humans.

Currently, most commercial meat chickens are slaughtered before maturity. They are bred to maximize breast meat. If full grown the weight of the upper body overwhelms their legs making them unable to walk. Also unacceptable for human subjects!
