Please, and this is to everyone, let's not fall victim to the bad mistake of 'promoting' Trump' by attacking DeSantis, or vise versa. It is not a question of which is right or wrong, but which would do be best job for We The People. I believe either one would be fantastic.

I like DeSantis, too, but it would have to be either Trump OR DeSantis. And from what I know is possible, I'm with Trump. I'm not too sure DeSantis could pull off what he did for Florida for our whole country. I'm pretty sure, though, that Trump can....because he did!

Pragmatist. Now that is a good term. And that is why a lot of people turned to him. I never liked him. As a person. But after getting in, I started to like the fact that he was taking a pragmatic approach to a lot of America's ills. And there are many. I h**ed his tweets. Beneath the dignity of the office. But the press made him their enemy and he had to fight back with the weapon he knew. Tweets.

Being retired I found myself on OPP. I love it. I love a good political discussion. I have learned a lot from postings and statements from so many on OPP that are on the right. I see almost nothing but hatred, pure hatred, and destructive policies on the left.

I attack so many of what I can only identify as l*****t trolls, because of their constant lies, false hoods and cheap baiting; because when you let this bull s**t go by without calling it out for what it is, and showing what the t***h is, innocent people start believing it. And the worst damage of that is, they become democrats. Hopefully, at least some of the time, some might just see the t***h of what we are saying about these democrat lies.

In the interval, I get a lot of t***h and good posts from the right. We sure aren't getting it from main stream media and social media. I've learned a lot. Thanks for those Right posters who are so right.

This started out as a comment about President Trump being a pragmatist. I like to think that I look at a lot of things as, 'what is Right/Correct.' What is the Logical way to look at things. I'm not a lawyer and I've never accused a lawyer of being logical. What is the logical approach to solving the problem. That is a good part of what I did all my life. Solve problems with a practical solution. Usually more Right and about freedom then Left. Pragmatic. As such, I often come to solutions that haven't been heard before, or real minority viewpoints, only because others haven't heard of those solutions or thought of those solutions. I get some good compliments for some of them. And of course arguments from the Left. But why can't we look to solve problems and issues, by fucking with what the law says, and seeing what is right and why and how can we implement that idea. Logically, by being pragmatic.

Meanwhile, I'll keep on calling out the bad ideas and lies and trying to find good solutions and bringing out new ideas for old problems, etc.

Trump is funny. Those who don't like him are devoid of humor and common sense. Trump is the greatest president in modern history, perhaps in all American history. He spoke in blunt t***hs and remedied the nation's problems.
The left has no humor.

Mikeyavelli, you are correct. The left has no humor. They are all a bunch of sour pusses who h**e themselves and everyone else too. They are a sad bunch of i***ts. It's a wonder that the suicide rate is as low as it is with so many depressed people on the left running around unmedicated.

Yes, he did. And in spite of his age, I think he still can. If he is the nominee, I will absolutely v**er for him.
But I think he will lose.
Winning is too dependent on swinging the majority of the independent v**ers, and I do not think that is possible with Trump's unfairly and unjustly tarnished brand in the general public's eye.
I hope I am wrong, but I do not think so.
If our goal is to vindicate Trump, we can do that.
If our goal is to WIN, I think DeSantis has a better chance.

Whenever I feel discouraged about the way Trump has been and is being treated, all I have to do is watch his next rally. It's very uplifting, and makes me want to support him because he so obviously loves this country. I know it's an uphill battle, but I'm thinking that a lot of people have been disillusioned during the past two years, and have seen what Trump actually accomplished for us while he was in charge. If Biden had continued Trump's successful projects - like the border security, or the pipeline or job security - it wouldn't be as noticeable how good Trump was for us (and how bad Biden really is!) So, with that in mind, I'm thinking it's those discouraged people who can see clearly what has happened to our country these days who will change their minds and v**e for Trump this time. It's possible that it's a lot more people than we realize...

Haven't seen the spine or spirit in DeSantis yet. He's a great governor, but can he withstand the attacks the left and media will throw at him as soon as he becomes a serious threat to them.
I haven't seen the fight in him. I see a rehearsed disciplined republican who, in the tradition of rehearsed and disciplined Republicans, is duty bound to apologize and acquiesce to the media and the relentless onslaughts of the left. I doubt that DeSantis has the mettle of Trump.

Sadly, the media hatred and lefty legal attacks on Trump have taken their toll. Not on Trump, who is feistier than ever, but on the general populace. They are weary of the attacks and push back. Trump’s fan base is there, but independents and moderate Republicans are tired of Trump and what he creates from the left.
Trump may have to run things through a puppet, the way Biden is run through his Handlers.

I believe that DeSantis should run for President and pick Trump as his Secretary of State. A win-win deal!

Trump will only accept King. If DeSantis runs and wins, he'll need Trump to bolster his resolve when the attacks and investigations and lawsuits come from the left. DeSantis on his own won't stand up to the onslaughts. He's rehearsed, and follows the script, but he's not genuine.

But I'm just afraid if Trump IS re-elected, it will just be be a re-play of the H3LL hole of 24/7 attacks on him and EVERYTHING he'd try to do just like the last 6+ years.....NOTHING gets done!!! Then they attack him saying he didn't accomplish anything ... because he was too busy defending himself with their incessant witch hunts.

The RATS have proved they will destroy America to get to Trump!!!!

You are absolutely correct!!!!! And sadly, it's working on some people. I wish they could see that it's a ploy to keep on trashing Trump. I think De Santis could actually be a Democrat plant. Get him to run against Trump, and they both will lose, and the Dems win. We CAN'T be that stupid!!!

DeSantis should back down and let Trump run. Maybe he could be an advisor, or another part of Trump's administration, but when I hear people say they're going to stop supporting Trump and v**e for someone else, they are saying they are going to let the Democrats win. And that is how they want it. They are the great dividers, and it's working for them.
