Sitting here in Seminole waiting for the hurricane. Sticking it out. I’m on the Gulf Coast bout 2 miles from the ocean. That area may get swamped. I’m over 30 ft. above sea level. Not worried about surge, but wind damage could be an issue. Have a big GenerX generator with 2 120 gallon tanks of propane. Me and the ball and chain are gonna stick it out and help our older (and more inexperienced) neighbors. Some are panicked. Wife’s already delivered meals and it isn’t even raining here yet. Keep you posted. Wish us luck.

Thoughts and prayers with you. Your first hand account is appreciated. Some of us have friends and relatives in Florida and we don't know as yet how they are fairing.

Right where I am twenty some miles south of Tampa we have gusts of sixty and a crap load of rain. We are not worried about storm surge here. Ft. Myers got crushed along with Sarasota. Orlando will get hit hard tomorrow. Thanks for the prayers.

Take care...prayers for all of you.

My sister is in Vero, but it sounds like it won't be so bad on that part of the east coast. No evacuations there yet.

Thanks for all the prayers. Made it threw with little or no damage. Power went out a 2:00 A.M. and the GenerX kicked on. Power back now. Looks like some cleanup, branches and stuff is in my future. Pray for others in Florida. Some places (Naples, Ft Myers especially) have been devastated ,. Well, me and the new pup are gonna go check on neighbors. Thanks again everyone.

Glad to hear the good news. Is your new puppy a thoroughbred Ice Box Pointer?

Looked it up cause I wasn't familiar with the breed. Looks like they're a good one.

He's been everything the breeder advertised. Smart, loyal, and already learned he can't herd my three cats. When I walk him he stops and points at vehicles driving by.

I looked that breed up too - What a pretty dog!! (YES, you can call boy dogs pretty!)

I have a bordoodle (poodle/bordercollie), and the border collie in her wants to herd us everywhere. Having two of the smartest breeds in her makes her THE smartest doggy in the world (at least I think so 😁). She knows colors ("go get the green ball....go get the blue ball") and hugs - I mean REALLY hugs - everybody she comes in contact with. She puts her front paws around your legs and her head on your tummy and actually hugs. Our neighborhood calls her the "huggy doggy".

I'm reading about and looking at pictures of Fort Meyers....looks pretty bad to me. Lots of devastation at the coast.
