Come on Arch. 95% of the time it’s beautiful here.

But, it's that 5% that gets ya.

I'm just trying to put a percentage on how often it's beautiful here in the Texas Panhandle. Weather wise, that is.
Today was good. But, your little rainstorm over there might change the jetstream, and it could snow 3 feet in a few days.
Me, personally, I'm like a duck. I wake up, stick my head outside, and dress for it.

You get a lot of weather variety in Texas where you’re at?

Sitting here in Seminole waiting for the hurricane. Sticking it out. I’m on the Gulf Coast bout 2 miles from the ocean. That area may get swamped. I’m over 30 ft. above sea level. Not worried about surge, but wind damage could be an issue. Have a big GenerX generator with 2 120 gallon tanks of propane. Me and the ball and chain are gonna stick it out and help our older (and more inexperienced) neighbors. Some are panicked. Wife’s already delivered meals and it isn’t even raining here yet. Keep you posted. Wish us luck.

Good luck. I think you'll be fine. What out for broken windows.

Thanks. Have the hurricane shutters down. Neighbors are boarded up.

Oh, heck yeah! It might snow in the morning, and thunderstorm in the afternoon.
It's been this way all my life. I've learned, with my job to not trust their computer models, and carry appropriate gear just in case. It's served me well so far.

Hope you'll be okay. So far so good in Broward, lost power around 1am for about 2hrs but we've got everything we need and it's looking like we won't see much here. To quote my brother in law, "It's better to be lucky than good".

You stay safe. First time I've ever seen the water sucked out from the beach to a couple hundred yards. Lotta rain at the moment.

Thanks. We’ll be fine as long as my two big Oaks don’t fall on us.

Keep safe my friend. So smart to have a GenX generator. I mentioned we lost our home in Michael yet that wasn't the worst. Stationed on Okinawa back in the 60's we had a typhoon they told us reached 160 knot winds. Most everyone got prepared by buying a typhoon fifth, a 40 oz jug. Rest assured you're being prayed for & all the folks in Ian's path of destruction.
