[quote=Parky60]I have a different interpretation about Satan “pulling the wool over your eyes” if you’re truly saved (the elect) and shortening the hour of temptation. I too study the Bible chapter-by-chapter, verse-by-verse.

Matthew 24:21-25
21 For then (after the abomination of desolation) there will be GREAT TRIBULATION (Satan’s wrath before the Day of the Lord and God’s wrath), such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be.
22 And unless those days were shortened (the days of the GREAT TRIBULATION), no flesh would be saved (delivered); but for the elect's sake (God’s chosen ones or those who are truly saved) those days will be shortened (before the rapture of God’s chosen ones before the Day of the Lord).
23 Then if anyone says to you, 'Look, here is the Christ!' or 'There!' do not believe it.
24 For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect (in other words it is not possible to deceive God’s chosen ones).
25 See, I have told you beforehand.[/quo

Matt 24:8 All these are the beginning of sorrows. Then the rapture has come and gone and we're still here.
Matt 24:13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. Start from 24:1 so you can get the object of what Christ is telling us. You have read but overlooked some key points, and since you're an experienced Bible study student, we have been warned more than twice so you're not drinking milk anymore you should be partaking in the meat of the Word. So with that go to GotQuestions and have your clarification.

I don’t believe in a pre-tribulation rapture. I believe in a pre-wrath rapture. This view proposes that Daniel’s 70th Week involves three distinct periods: the beginning of sorrows spoken of in Jesus’ Olivet Discourse leading to the mid-point, the Great Tribulation that begins at the mid-point with the Abomination of Desolation, and the Day of the Lord, a period after the mid-point that begins God’s wrath beginning shortly after the rapture that is at an “unknown day and hour.” Second, this view teaches that believers will endure the time of Satan’s wrath and be persecuted by the Antichrist during the Great Tribulation. And, third, this view holds that the church must endure the Antichrist and the Great Tribulation but will be raptured just before the Day of the Lord.

I will leave you with what is from a VERY high level, some scripture passages that led me to believe in a pre-wrath rapture, understanding that extensive study, cross-referencing, word studies, etc. were done to make this conclusion:

1 Thessalonians 5:9
2 Thessalonians 2:1-4
Joel 2:31 and numerous others
Revelation 6:12
Revelation 7:9-17

I go straight to the source -- the Bible -- and pray to the Holy Spirit for guidance.

But you have received the Holy Spirit, and he lives within you, so you don’t need anyone to teach you what is true. For the Spirit teaches you everything you need to know, and what he teaches is true—it is not a lie. So just as he has taught you, remain in fellowship with Christ. 1 John 2:27

That’s good pal, but I still stand that there’s no rapture. I’m out.

I’m thinking that you’re both wrong.
The man of sin won’t be revealed until the restrainer is taken out. I believe that is the Holy Spirit, and he’s inside us. If He goes, we go.
Pretrib rapture!
