YES, BUT MY POST IS THERE.....WITH MY WORDS. If I had edited before I posted then your quote and my post would be identical. DUH....... Sorry, but PLEASE ASK ADMIN and point them to this discussion. And post their response so that others can learn. Thank you. Now, no more about this until you get the reply from the moderators.

Edit allows for changes that go unrecorded as being different from the original. Try it!

I have to admit a few things, that are not not in my best interest. The line I recorded which you object to does not fit your train of thought up to that point. Also, it is suddenly sloppy and that is not in keeping with your thread. It gives me pause. If I quoted what you wrote as stated in my supposed copy and paste, I would have no idea of your line "make better choices." Yet I addressed that line. A real quandary.

But your point about "edit" and subsequent "update" leaves adequate room for changing one's post undetected--and nearly everyone here at OPP knows that: no admin is necessary to verify this plain fact.

Is this you way of saying that you are sorry?

I still would like for you to ask Admin and post their reply. This can be a once and for all end to the debate that you and I have and Glucon has posted about. That is the same post and thread where you said that someone had changed your posts and then you changed your own.....and posted it. I sent Admin a PM with the question and they came back and said that the person was being a "Troll." They did not address the question of is it possible, only a character statement. Perhaps you can explain it better to them and get a more in-depth reply. It would be good for all of OPP, not just to clear the air between you and I for this and past accusations, but for anyone that may be somewhat insecure about having their words manipulated. It is something that needs to be cleared up....like I said, it would be a service for all participants on OPP.

Here is what I sent to Admin and their reply;

I am so sorry to trouble you, but an individual keeps insisting that another poster changed their original post or comment. I maintain that after the 60 minutes allowed to edit one's own post, and the edit capability is only available to the one who posted and not to others, that the only person that can change a post or comment is a Mod. I keep getting feedback that a person has changed another's, but in reality they are not changing the original post but they have used the quote reply and changed or rearranged the words in the quoted portion. Can you please clear this up? I think coming from you, as the authority, then those that are worried over this will feel relieved. And, if possible will you put this in language that those who are not computer literate can understand.

Then again, I could be wrong. I do not know everything.

Many thanks

Ginny

This is what I know is true from experience: as long as the "edit" box remains, I can change what I wrote. End of story. No one will be the wiser. With "quote reply," any changes will be obvious.

What you are still missing is my post is there complete as I wrote it and hit send. Sure I could have edited it and probably did, as I reread my post for mistakes and change spelling and such. Then I hit send and it is posted, as you can see from page 1. Also on page 1 right after my post is your comment with the changes to the last sentence. You could have, and probably should have, read your post before your time expired. Had you, then you would have read the last part and it should have raised a f**g. You could have corrected any mistakes. But, you did not correct it and you did post it with the changes. Therefore, I can only conclude that you changed the wording on purpose. For what reason, I have no clue you are the author, only you can explain.

And with your reply, see below, I can see that your previous post was not a recognition that you made a mistake to which you are sorry. But, again you are trying to say that I somehow changed your post.

Again, send a PM to Admin and ask if anyone can change someone else's post. Then post their reply.
