I have to disagree here. Republicans had no choice because had Rittenhouse had been found guilty then everything they stand for would come into question. I mean Rittenhouse did what every one of them has stated they stand for. After all, he bore arms to protect personal property and used those arms when he felt his life in danger. That's the party platform on the second amendment. To lose would cause everything they stand for to come into question and leave themselves open to every criticism they face on the second amendment.

So the message is the same: arm yourselves to protect personal property--it doesn't have to be yours--and to defend yourselves from all the e-vile people in the world--namely liberals...
