You are assuming that all folks on the left or right share the same views on all issues. Take a******n, for example. There are plenty of God fearing religious folks on the left who don't condone a******n, and plenty of folks on the right who think that a******n is up to the families involved in the decision and that no one has the right to interfere with that decision (the libertarians).

Reality is much more complex than simplistic and narrow ideology.

So what is a policy/position that you hold that you consider to be 'centrist/slightly left'?

Oddly enough, when I asked you about any specific issue, you answered with a vague comment of 'compromise'.

"Centrist" is a vague term whose definition is determined by the individual.

The 'compromise' answer was not vague. I don't agree with either/or thinking.

I also used the concept of 'public good' to illustrate my left leaning tendencies. I don't want to get rid of capitalism, just moderate it's impacts on clean air and water, for example. I remember when the US gov't. mandated catalytic converters for automobiles. Oh my, that was going to be the death of the auto industry. Now we drive more cars more miles than ever before, yet our air is cleaner now than in the last few decades.

Catalytic converts are not a hot button issue today.

I will be more direct and use this one.

Do you believe a person should be required to present a vaild photo ID to v**e?

I’d day that’s a fair assessment to both parties ideology along with the “no mentality”because of the party that is bringing forth wh**ever..

Compromise is the gift of success where neither really like or care for it ( thinking it shows weakness) but gets the job done..

Have’t we had enough of the BS ideology??At this pace all we do is sink further into the hellhole of political abyss that fights for control rather than our country... So damn s**k of all of them!!!

Is anyone what they claim to identify with ideologically?? Why must there be such a characterization when there certainly is no “ teal party anyway.. The parties are Er the citizens vs the elitism of government enforcement..

They have stolen state rights along with citizen rights, violate the Constitution motivated by greed....etc..

Well that certainly puts you into the far left crowd as a large majority of v**ers do believe one should present a photo ID when v****g.

A side question would be why are you against a requirement to show a valid photo ID when v****g? Seems to be common sense why to insure it is the right person.

You have been pretty quick to label me. I don't mind that at all. You see me as 'far l*****t'...okay. Fair enough.
Because you have been civil, I have answered your questions honestly.

However, you have also avoided some of the questions I've raised. You've dismissed the catalytic converter as old news without addressing the 'public good' question. Also you've dismissed the compromise issue as it relates to how you deal with those with whom you disagree. A large number of Americans do not see the issues the same way you do, including many Republicans, which is one of the reasons we have a Biden administration. Are the so-called RINOs l*****ts also? I pointed out that the a******n issue isn't as 'us-them' as the premise of your question assumed. That too was passed over.

So, let's turn the original question around: is there such a thing as a moderate/centrist from the right? To me, there doesn't a be room for such a position.

How about we’re all just people with different ideologies on what we think works best???

If we would think and believe this we’d have a hell of a country, wouldn’t we??? Got everything every other country wants and yet we’re bent hell on ruining it!!!

Good grief we’re i***ts!! 😱

>>"You have been pretty quick to label me"

Nope - what I said was that your stance on THIS ISSUE "puts you into the far left crowd as a large majority of v**ers do believe one should present a photo ID when v****g". There may be more issues where you are on the far left as well. There may even be issues where I am on the far left - though I haven't seen one yet.

>>However, you have also avoided some of the questions I've raised. You've dismissed the catalytic converter as old news without addressing the 'public good' question

I labelled it as 'old news' because it is. It is not an issue today. Is it 'public good'? Yes - but that certainly does not mean all things the government want to do are public good. Not sure what else you would want me to say.

>>Also you've dismissed the compromise issue as it relates to how you deal with those with whom you disagree. A large number of Americans do not see the issues the same way you do, including many Republicans, which is one of the reasons we have a Biden administration. Are the so-called RINOs l*****ts also?

I did dismiss compromise - how can you force or legislate compromise? You can't. What can be done is too v**e out those ON BOTH SIDES who won't compromise. And that means actual compromise - not just talk.

And a large number of Americans DO see the issues the same way I do. Is a RINO a l*****t: maybe - for example if they believe a photo ID is not needed to v**e - then they are a l*****t on that issue.

>> I pointed out that the a******n issue isn't as 'us-them' as the premise of your question assumed. That too was passed over.

A******n is a no win scenario. There are those who believe it is murder. That is pretty much a moral/religious issue and people seldom change on that.

>>So, let's turn the original question around: is there such a thing as a moderate/centrist from the right? To me, there doesn't a be room for such a position.

Sure there is. For example, I am one.
