The mindset difference between the republican mindset and the democratic. Our attitudes can be found in the car we choose to drive. I found and interesting survey done by a consumer research group Strategic Vision who conducted the survey to provide automakers with helpful marketing data. This is what they found:
Among Republicans, the Ford Mustang convertible was the most popular car, followed by Audi A8, Mercedes GL-Class, Ford Expedition, and Ford F-150. Republicans also favored large SUVs by a wide margin (76%, compared to 5% of Dems).
Among Democrats the top choice was the Honda Civic Hybrid, followed by the Volvo C30, Nissan Leaf, Acura TSX Sport Wagon, and Ford Fiesta.
Republicans opted for bigger, pricier models, while Dems chose smaller, more affordable ones.
Republicans accounted for 69% of convertible purchases, and Democrats only 17%.
Republicans also favored large SUVs by a wide margin (76%, compared to 5% of Dems).
(“If I were selling a convertible, I’d consider buying some air-time on Fox News,” said president Alexander Edwards). From the consumer side, the survey provides a clue into which carefully crafted images we’re buying into -- and who we are. A VP from Strategic Vision told The New York Times that the popularity of convertibles among Republicans indicates a mindset emphasizing freedom and reward. All the top choices by Democrats matched a separate survey on total auto value, indicating an emphasis on practicality.

I find the conservatives continually postulating on accountability, yet their concerns are more in tune with what they “deserve” rather than conserving. In contrary the democrats seem to be more aligned with conserving our natural sources, wildlife and environment and why they support agencies as EPA. It turns out maybe they are the true “conservatives”

Wanna hear something funny, not all conservatives are Republicans. Not all liberals are Democrats. But what I have found is that the Democrats tend to be the young, 18-35 and Republicans tend to be old, 36-70,80. I also see the view points that are most supported are the clash between the two age groups the Young and the Old.

So under that assumption, I believe you are right.

You are talking about the Democrats and Republicans in office, he was talking about the people democrats and people republicans. There's a big difference. However your statement is correct if you talk about the Democrat politicians. Why should the Air Force be giving Nancy Pelosi a ride? Isn't that misappropriation of government funds? Any ways, when it comes to politicians or elected officials they want to be treated as royalty and I think that is BS. They should be treated as you and I agreed?

Only if they stand up and fight for what is right, and protect all of our freedoms. It would be a bonus if they return to us, freedoms that were taken from us, by the corrupt amongst us. But every new generation shows promise, in the beginning.

Agreed. I also think the poster is narrowminded and biased with this. I know lib/progs think we should all drive a toyota prius. Anybody ever done the math on how many bales of hay you can fit in a prius? How do you help your friends move with one??
Point is, bigger vehicles are useful for our needs. We don't all live in a bubble.
As a conservitive, I am damn tired of being pigeonholed by these "educated" academic morons who have no idea about life outside their "bubble."

Very true, corruption it rots from the inside out. Many of us agree on what needs to be done, as in setting limited terms, and taking the money being passed through lobbying, etc. We need good honest people to step up to the plate.

Also I am tired of buying expensive disposable items such as vehicles. What is the point in buying a $40,000 vehicle that when it breaks down, you have to pay greater than $500 to fix. That is just stupid. I wish they would start building products that are built to last. Like, we have a 1976 Chevy Impala that is still running. We had to park it because of gas prices, but it still runs like a Champ. My mom, bought a 1989 Ford Tempo, that died three years after she bought it. Newer is not always better. We really need to do something about that.

The car companies are very capable of making biodiesel/electric efficient trucks. They don't because they want us to be oil dependent and less efficient. Why do you think they canned the EV 1 car.
I use to drive a Isuzu Rodeo, for the money it was a great little suv, found out they make it as a diesel, just not here in the states, why do you think that is? Also had a Mercedes diesel great car could take me from the coast to the mountains about 350 miles on about half a tank of gas. So where are the cars like that made here in America...they're too efficient.

How would you describe "average American people"?
Where I live, we are average American people.
I drive one for work (26 gal/day) one for hauling needed stuff (18 mpg), and one for running around(avg. 23 mpg). Good nuff??
The average American person has to economize as much as possible now. Fuel is our largest bill. BTW, we are self-employed and sucking wind.
You can't put us all in the same frame.
