The tequila is helping, but I have a ways to go. It was pretty awful...the mental picture.

I understand, but hang in there ol' buddy. And try another 'few' shots of tequila. With enough shots of said remedy, nothing will faze you for the foreseeable future. In fact, you may find your vision to be seriously impaired.

Actually the fat guy was the best dancer of the bunch and I heard women say just that many places where they performed. Yes, they were quite a sight but mainly because some were tall and skinny, and short and skinny.

Yes, and the walk is always pleasant because it is of your own choosing. These comedians mentioned were great. It is one of the reasons I think Seinfeld did so well for himself and his series. He never got into gutter language, and found humor in the most common, everyday things.

'What is was, was football' is up there with 'Who's on 1st' and other great skits/routines from the past. I never tire of them!

-------
Don't forget Carol Burnette, Harvey Coreman and Tim Conway. I laughed at them cracking each other up. And, don't forget Foster Brooks, who played the drunk on the Dean Martin Show.

And he did it very convincingly. But then he had lots of experience before getting sober and becoming a teetotaler.

Foster Brooks was one of my favorites. Last night I saw Carole, Tim and Vicki Lawrence talking and Tim said you people never broke me up. They then showed a clip of Conway, talking with Steve Lawrence, the singer, and Lawrence had him nearly falling out of his chair with laughter.

So many here are old people so must have heard Andy Griffith do this little thing that I find so hilarious. He describes a football game in a way that few could do as well from the standpoint of a boy who was headed for a tent meeting and got caught in the crowd going to a football game.

I first heard this thing in the early 50s and it is an excellent example of how funny the comedians of that time could bring on the kinds of laughter he did without using the kind of language those of today use.

Mentioning Foster Brooks reminds me also of 'Crazy Guggenheim' from the old Jackie Gleason variety show. He was a drunk, too, and a very talented singer.

And we had Red Skelton as well. We were truly blessed with great comedians who could makes laugh and all the while keep it clean enough so children could watch the show without their ears covered.

I mentioned this once before, almost a year ago, but my kids..while very young, loved Skelton's reading of 'Frogs'.

You had to have been there!

I hadn't thought of Crazy Guggenheim in years. I think I need to see if I can find some of him on youtube.

I just watched some of the Foster Brooks skits on youtube with Dean Martin and the various roasts and then the one of Dean and Foster and the brain surgeon. All very funny. Sure do miss that era.

He was good wan't he? He had all of them laughing at those roasts. In the Jack Benny one he played like he was Jacks tax accountant and then read his return to the audience.
