'Dorf On Golf' was Conway live, not a cartoon. Try that link I just gave OldRoy. One skit was with Johnny Carson.

I was referencing McHale's Navy.

These old comedians really cracked me up. Red Skeleton especially cracked me up, but so did Andy Griffith. Bob Hope was another that could bring down the house. It's a shame that their craft has been lost and that comedians think the only way to be funny is to use 4 letter words now days. I heard a new comedian on HBO that really got down in the gutter and I just couldn't stand to listen to her. And to think these people think they are funny these days. I'll take the old comedians any day of the week. Even Jack Benny was funnier then any of the new ones I caught on HBO that night. He had class and knew how to make people laugh with just a look. Lots see these new people do that.

Carol Bernett and Tim Conway always cracked me up.

My bad, and I get your point, now. For similar reasons, I could never get into 'Hogan's Heroes'. I thought it was in poor taste.

I watched 'Gomer Pyle' before I went into the Corps, so I wasn't so hard on it, at the time.

I still watch all those old Andy Griffith marathons all day sometimes. I remember all of them but love to see them again. Don Knotts was one of the best comedians we ever had, too.

He was great in the movie "the Incredible Mr. Limpit"

You know now that I think about it cartoons were much better then too...Popeye, road runner, bugs bunny....back when they didn't have a marketing campaign behind it.

Here is the beginning of three videos by Dorf on Golf. The whole page seems to be full of dorf on golf. How many people could act like a Norwegian or wh**ever he was doing like he did.

Thank you for this. My husband and I use to dance every Saturday night, and this brought forth many fond memories.

Your speaking about dancing and this video made me remember about a Can Can line my fraternity got up for a show by Greek groups in college. We had one man who weighed at least 325 and was about 6ft tall. Along with other fat men from the group he and some short skinny guys were the stars. They wore can can style outfits and did a number of shows in the area where most people were of German extraction but enjoyed the French dancing. Those guys were really good and the fattest ones were the best at kicking can can style.

They were funny to watch but the fat one who was the father of three girls later and who turned out to be just a wee bit q***r was the best dancer of the group. His kicks were something to see as were the other heavy ones.
