an who be shiftless?

By the way, I went out for dinner last evening and asked for a table with a view.

They gave me a table facing the open door to the ladies room.

I am here briefly...soon to leave again to help a neighbor with some errands. Alex is 'Shiftless'. He and I form the new team of 'Shifty & Shiftless', a counter to 'Dumb & Dumber'. We are going to be huge on the screen!

I'm not sure you do. He, if I'm not mistaken, is an old trooper, and you know how they can 'talk'. Similar to a Swabbie aboard ship, or a Marine on deployment. They have a vocabulary all their own.

In other words - it would make the grass wilt!

When my cousin was about 4 years old, he swore like a trooper. This one time his mother said, "If you say another cuss word I'll wash your mouth out with soap." Well, that was a dare, so he swore, and she did wash his mouth out with soap. He looked at her and said, "You didn't have to use so GD much did you?"

Yes, but I suspect his bark is worse than his bite, if he still can...bite that is.

Having recently visited there, Nov 2013, I can attest to that. But I did find some very nice people also residing, and visiting, there.

Well, their city motto is: 'Keep Austin weird', and they are doing a bang-up job of it!

But, it is still a great place to live, although I left there two years ago after forty years of calling it home.
