During America's colonial era, many of the founding fathers -- including George Washington and Thomas Jefferson -- espoused its manufacturing for rope, sails and paper. Early settlers also used hemp seeds as a source for lamp oil and some colonies made hemp cultivation compulsory, calling its production necessary for the "wealth and protection of the country."

Hemp continued to be cultivated in America until 1937 when Congress passed the Marihuana Tax Act outlawing marijuana. Although not a bill specifically aimed at hemp production, legal limitations posed by the legislation put an end to the once prominent industry."

I don't know.......................how many belt fed machine guns does the American military have?

Do you want to include all of the 3,00 round a minute mini guns on planes, Humvees and attack helicopters?

Now, Now, don't be too hasty.
Back it the day when I did hunt, I liked hunting with black powder.

The trouble with black powder is that you have one shot.

After missing I have tried to ask the deer to what a minute until I reloaded, but, I guess he didn't here me, because he took off any way.

The other problem is that I don't like to see an animal suffer, I try to make sure the the shot is a k*****g one so that he goes down immediately, but, again the deer just refuse to cooperate and they keep moving around.

So, I carried a black powder pistol with me.
If for any reason the black powder rifle miss fired or missed, out came the pistol. If the animal was suffering at all, again, out came the pistol.

There is nothing wrong with carrying a pistol while hunting. They can be very useful.

Some 7.62 have barrel clips that hold more then 100. Then on some air craft that have over 1000 round clips holding 50 caliber.

Black powder hunting is a very traditional hunt similar to bow hunting, very honorable, in the true spirit of fair chase. A hand gun for the k**l shot is humane.

Court Orders City of Chicago to Reimburse NRA $940,000 in Legal Expenses

Fairfax, Va. – The United States District Court in the Northern District of Illinois has ordered the City of Chicago to reimburse $940,000 in legal expenses incurred by the NRA. The NRA had challenged Chicago’s ban on gun sales within city limits in Benson v. City of Chicago. The Benson case was consolidated into Illinois Association of Firearm Retailers v. City of Chicago and that case challenged five aspects of Chicago’s law: (1) the ban on any form of carriage; (2) the ban on gun stores; (3) the ban on firing ranges; (4) the ban on self-defense in garages, porches, and yards; and (5) the ban on keeping more than one gun in an operable state.

This is the second time that the City of Chicago has been ordered to reimburse legal fees in a suit sponsored by the NRA. The first was following the U.S. Supreme Court’s landmark ruling in McDonald v. City of Chicago in which Chicago was ordered to reimburse the NRA more than $600,000.

Add the two judgments together, and the City of Chicago now owes the NRA more than $1.5 million.

I was talking about hunting with a handgun as a primary weapon, not a utilitarian one for ending the animal's life.

Besides that many more hunt deer out here with their vehicles than do with fire arms. Not on purpose but when there are so many of them we can't always avoid them on the roads.

I don't hunt anymore myself but I seem to remember that they did have handguns with scopes and that they did use these weapons for deer hunting. As I said I could be wrong but there either was a time or maybe they still do that today in some parts of the country. I have seen on videos what a .50 caliber does to a steel plate and that is more than enough power to k**l a deer. In fact you could probably take out moose or buffalo or other larger game like that with one of these monsters. I also believe that the .357 mag. and the .44 mag were popular as well.

You can thank modern games laws for the crowding.

When they first came out, a person was limited to the number of deer that could be taken, but you could take that deer any time during the hunting season.

Now you have to choose which week or weeks your going to hunt and in a lot of states you have to choose the location as well, that's it.

There's no time to actually hunt any more.
It's more about shooting, to get your k**l, as quickly as possible, before your time runs out and everybody is in the same boat.

Add to that game wardens, who's pay checks are paid for by the fees h****rs have to pay, yet, a lot of theses game wardens h**e h****rs and hunting.

It just ain't fun any more.

Many people around here k**l deer the year round and as long as they don't get caught keep salting them away in freezers.

Actually we k**l about as many with vehicles on the highways as with guns. Body men don't mind repairing a fender or two but they do seem to tire of those with the whole front end destroyed.

The biggest mule deer I have ever seen came out of a tree row onto the highway and really tested my brakes. All I got was his back left knee and he didn't lose a stride. Both of my sons have hit more deer than we could count. One rancher here said that he and a friend from Georgia were flying over an area where a deer herd fed and they counted very near 250 of the worthless critters in the herd. I have always thought we need to get some people with automatic weapons and go after those herds.

Some years ago we were hunting in WY and every morning the big trucks coming through town all had fresh blood from deer or antelope.
