Shutting down the economy will result in more harm and deaths by an unbelievable magnitude.

You don't even know unbelievable magnitude until you sit down with a piece of paper and do the daily exponential increase...we are over 1000 deaths a day, that is going up everyday at a rate of doubling every four or five days, so by sunday (5 days) we will be at 2000 a day, by Friday (10 days) 4000 a day, by the following Wednesday (15 days) 8000 a day, by the next Monday (20 days) 16,000 a day, (25 days) 32,000 a day, and by 30 days it's 64,000 deaths a day. That's how exponential works from doing nothing. Try adding up those daily numbers as they increase every day and see what the grand total is.

A couple hundred thousand could easily top a million if we did that. Social distancing is not likely to keep us at the optimistic numbers being used.

Our curve is on a rise that will go to 2000 deaths a day in a few days, 4000 a day a few days later, 8000 a day a short time after that. We have a mix of some states that may be slowing that with states that are acting this week quite a bit late, and others who are still not. This is what the president should have done quite a ways back. This every day increase will continue to rise through April. Take a pad of paper, increase the new deaths every day at a rate that is double in five days and see where you are at in 15 days, then take that to 30 days. If you don't get it and you aren't scared I don't know what to say.

What's up with the economy that it can't take a few months?

We had a 30 year old woman here today that has it and she's been sheltering in place.
It's our 1st case.

Who visited her?

How many people has she been in contact with recently?

That's scary...

You be careful...

All I can figure is maybe her husband goes to work everyday and he brought it in as a carrier.
My masks are supposed to arrive tomorrow and I hope so because I have things I need to do.
I haven't even stepped on my porch since March 4th.

Get your children to do those things... You stay safe...

Masks are no 100% effective... Make sure you don't touch your face when you are out and about... I wore stupid looking mittens... Worked perfectly...
Wash your hands often when you are out and when you come back throw your clothes in the Washing machine right away.. Be careful not to touch your face while doing this... Then shower... Wipe your shoes down too... And anything you buy....

I've got a list started, but they really don't have any meat.
I've ordered 2 hams for meat.
They don't have big bags of sugar unless it's splenda and I get sick on that.
You get my answer to your query?

I sympathize...

I h**e it when I can't get what I need...

Lol... while there have been no TP shortages over here, the brand I like (by "I" I mean my wife) was sold out for three days... I was forced to buy a perfectly equal brand (my wife disagrees) and that was that... Until I went down to the garage a couple weeks later and realized I had an entire case of the stuff there (I use my garage as a classroom and have put
bathroom in it... )...

My wife didn't see the himorvof the situation at all

I used to have wipes and TP by the case.
I don't know where I screwed up, but if this ends, I hope to be more careful and stock up on things.
The only thing, if you keep wipes too long, they dry out.
