Senate May Dismiss Impeachment After Opening Arguments

It appears from what I am reading, that Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) will move to dismiss the articles immediately following opening arguments.

"...Article I, Section 3 actually states, “The Senate shall have the sole Power to try all Impeachments.”

“We don’t create impeachments over here … we judge them,” he declared.

It was the House’s role to investigate, and to build a case. “If they fail, they fail! It’s not the Senate’s job to leap into the breach to search desperately for ways to get to guilty. That would hardly be impartial justice.”

The Senate would not, he said, participate in “new fact-finding” that House Democrats were “too impatient” to pursue."

I suspect that is how this whole unfortunate process is going to end. Agree or Disagree?

I wish that were to be the case but I doubt it, however I believe it will be over in very short order unless Mitt Romney raises a fuss and sides with the democrats and convinces a couple more rino’s to go with him..

If they call witnesses they are falling into the Democrats' plan of d**gging it out and allowing them their further fishing expedition. No Matter which way they go the Democrats and MSM will spin it their way. The American people are tired of this and want it over.

I beg to differ with the word "nothing" because they have created chaos within our great country and driven a wedge to divide the country.

talking points during the campaign not just for Donald Trump but all GOP in the Senate and in the House of Representatives.
Just imagine if the Democrats get control of the Senate and the House and this time they impeach Trump and Pence. because The American v**ers felt that it was ramrod though the Senate. It could happen or because it was ramrod though the Senate the American v**ers v**ed Trump out of office. this to could happen.

Yep, that was a foregone conclusion. The Democrats acted prematurely, knowing impeachment would fail in the Senate. They should have waited until all the law suits passed out of SCOTUS - if Trump lost, they could have compelled the witnesses to appear that they needed to build an ironclad case, if T***p w*n, they could have saved themselves a heap of trouble.

The President will be reelected, I'll put up a thousand to back my claim.

I just gave a opinion you don't need to be so rude about it.
