I believe you're confusing classical Liberalism, such as our Founders believed, with the Democrat/progressive redefining of the term liberal. No similarity. If fact Democrats so tarnished the term liberalism that they eventually abandoned it and started calling themselves Progressives. They tarnished that identify too and a Democrat, liberal, Progressive today is actually a Marxist Socialist. Most of the new type Progressive are totally ignorant of what they represent. The latest statistics show that the vast majority of white progressives are atheist and agnostics and this alone supports their adoption of the Progressive philosophy, agenda, morals and values.

In spite of common usage liberal and progressive are not interchangeable.

True liberalism seldom exists now. It has been t***sformed to leftism. It wishes to deny civil liberties, shut down freedom of speech, take individuals means of protection from them while despising law and order. They wish to force e******y on everyone and despise individual liberty and look at social justice as left wing values and placing any outside groups rights over freedom loving Americans rights. L*****t social justice is actually social injustice. L*****ts seek a g*******t agenda with totalitarianism and one world government and one corrupt religious system as their main objective. Leftism offers nothing of value and takes what people do value.
