Good morning, Radiance....
While not a miracle, I was blessed to be a part of a minor blessing this day...
A small reminder of the value of prayer...
I opened bdamage's morning prayer... Rather liked it... So I passed it on to a friend of mine...
He had just gotten home from the hospital (he is doing his practical, working towards a medical degree) and was in tears...
Today was an exciting day for him...He was going to assist with two natural births...
The first went well...
The second not so much... The child was born with cyanosis and the doctors struggled to resuscitate him... Several times...
In the end they were successful (God be praised...Amen) but there will still be many problems and the child may yet die...
My friend was having a good cry...And wondering if he should continue in his field... He has seen sick and elderly patients pass...But never a child... He has strong religious beliefs and was having a moment where he posed that question we all do sometimes concerning the perceived unfairness of the world at times....
bdamage's prayer came at exactly the right moment... It reminded him of his reasons for wanting to be a doctor... And that the Lord is always with us...
Blessed Intervention...🙏🙏🙏

I think that there is a possibility that you have fallen off the fence on the left side.....no problem, you seem to have landed on your feet! There is a very famous quote by a very intelligent intellectual theologian LOL!
It goes sorta like this.....if a man doesn’t STAND for something, he’ll fall for anything!😂😂😂. That would make a good line in a country song, don’t sha 🤔 think?
I will repeat what I have stated on OPP many times: I regard myself as a moderate/centrist leaning more left than right, but not exclusively. However, due to my often eclectic views, and having been labeled both by family and friends, I am not surprised or alarmed or when viewed as either liberal or conservative.
Over the years, I've tried being open-minded. A mind is like a parachute in that it doesn't function without being opened. Yet, I am not so open-minded as to fail in discarding thoughts I deem unworthy of h*****g onto. In other words, I glean what I deem worthy from what I read and hear. I toss the rest. Everyone has that option, and most generally exercise it.

As most are deemed essential, it is extremely rare that I toss foods.

His views on Trump make him a liberal?
You might be conflating liberals and progressives...
Don't think Slatten is a progressive... Though I could be wrong...
Must you always EXPLAIN what someone says that doesn’t exactly fit your definitions? My point was simply that MR. SLATTEN is of the age that he knows what he believes and why he believes it.......just like ME! Believe it or not,!!!!!!!! I have friends that are liberals or progressives, or wh**ever word you want to use! I was not disrespecting his right to believe what he believes nor do I want or expect everyone to believe what I do!
Here’s something else you can critique! I don’t believe there is such a thing as a true fence sitter. A person is going to lean right or left, therefore, they will fall off that fence! Just my opinion! This conversation with EE was never meant to be a serious discussion!
You asked Zemirah once if she ever “let her hair down?” Do you?

These verses support both your and Rumi's positions....
Who decides who is truly hearing and seeing?
The verses don’t support what rumi said. The bible refutes it.
The bible also shows who hears and sees. Its not about personal opinion - its about understanding what God is revealing to us. Some are closed to it because they don’t want to believe all of it. But its all or nothing.

Sigh...
It's never about personal opinion...
Always about confirmation bias.....
All or nothing?
Bet Rumi could start a great threat on that one

No not confirmation bias. The basics are seen by all Christians such as the doctrine of salvation, being saved by grace alone, the triune nature of God and others.
Other things that aren’t necessary for salvation there are some differences on.
It is simple. You either believe the bible is inerrant and the word of God or you don’t. Some reject part of it - such as Christ being the only way to God - because they have friends or family members that aren’t Christian. After all, who wants anyone to go to hell?
What do you think “many are called few are chosen” means? It means most people are not going to heaven.
Or this -
13 “Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. 14 For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.
- Matthew 7
Christ spoke about hell more than heaven. People don’t want to hear that.

Really? We have a different view of fruits. The Seven gifts of the Holy Spirit are an enumeration of seven spiritual gifts originating from patristic authors, later elaborated by five intellectual virtues and four other groups of ethical characteristics. They are: wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, piety, and fear of the Lord.
You don't know your bible very well rumi. Your doctrines are out in left field.\
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. Galatians 5:22-23
