Not sure you are aware of what a potluck is...

Or perhaps it has a different meaning in the states?

Up North a potluck is a meal where everyone contributes food...

Everyone knows what a potluck is.

You pick what you want to eat and disregard the rest.

Symbology is not untrue or a lie. Was Jesus ever actually a lamb?

You don’t believe the story of creation happened as told in Genesis?

Wow...

Sorry... We have different definitions...

This one is from the dictionary:
Potluck: a meal, especially for a large group, to which participants bring various foods to be shared....

Also: a meal that happens to be available without special preparation or purchase

I can find no definition that agrees with yours...

Odd...

Maybe I need more spiritual discernment?

Certainly...

It's an excellent allegory

Our definitions aren’t different. Instead of being patronizing as you so often are to people try reading more carefully.

Various foods are shared and people choose what they want to eat. Thats how you treat the bible. You choose what you want to believe and disregard the rest.

I’m not surprised you don’t believe it.

I have this amusing picture of you at a potluck.. Telling people to rid themselves of their dishes as they don't fit your definition of acceptable...

"One simply does not bring curry to a Baptist potluck!"

No, I meant potluck for several reasons. I know the difference.

No point in trying to explain further.

I’m not a Baptist. And its irrelevant whats acceptable to *me*. The authority is God’s word. We don’t read scripture to see what it means to us but to see what God wants us to know. There is a big difference.

If it walks like a duck (Baptist)...

And it flaps like a duck (Baptist)...

And it quacks like a duck (Baptist)...

It might just be a duck (Baptist)...

Ah, so now you’re calling me a liar. Thats pretty funny but not offensive.

You don’t even know what makes a Baptist a Baptist over other denominations.

Another question you need to ask yourself is why God’s word isn’t the
final authority for you.

Fine. You have the bible and many reliable sources you have access to. Scholars, commentaries and historical material. You claim you want to learn yet you never show you use these. Just the opposite im fact.

You pick what suits you and ignore what you don’t like - easy believism. This isn’t hard to understand and I expect you already understood it.
